U15 Girls Edge a Thriller

A late evening fixture saw our U15 girls play their part in an absolute classic — a brilliant game of cricket that went right down to the final ball.

Batting first, Amulya V set the tone with her second consecutive 50, supported by a rapid 20 from Evie A, helping us post 101.

Barnard Castle kept up with the rate and pushed us all the way, needing 16 from the final 3 overs. Lee E kept things tight with just 1 run, before Caitlin H and Grace O claimed key wickets — removing set batters and securing a dramatic 3-run win!

A fantastic advert for girls’ cricket. Competitive, exciting, and full of character from both sides.

A brilliant team performance from our U15 Girls tonight saw us take our first win of the season against Gateshead Fell!

Our openers set the tone with a strong start — Jess P finishing on an unbeaten 35* and a maiden half-century for Amulya with a superb 50*! Great to see Lottie G out in the middle for her first knock of the season too.

We posted a competitive 116 and backed it up with disciplined bowling and excellent fielding all round.
Everyone contributed in the field to help us defend the total and seal a well-earned victory.

Well done, team — great to see all the hard work paying off!

Last Sunday Durham City CC hosted our annual All Stars Junior Cricket Festival.

Over 50 of our All Stars & Comets came together to put all their hard work in practice. Players were split into teams to battle each other in a series of matches.

Although the Leopards came out on top… cricket is definitely the winner here.
