Classes have now finished for the summer break.
This has been a very successful year with 76 students over 4 exam sessions taking RAD Ballet and IDTA Tap & Contemporary Modern Jazz exams.
Eight of our senior students also took their first vocational graded RAD Ballet exams, fantastic results were achieved all round!
More exams are planned for the Autumn Term and exciting opportunities are in the pipe line.
A group of our students had the opportunity to perform beautifully at the Christmas Extravaganza at the Fulforth Centre. We cannot wait to perform there again this coming November.
We have had students succeed gaining places in associate programmes with Youth Ballet North.
We held our school performance this summer where our students performed brilliantly to a fantastic supportive audience of 172 people!
This term we are saying goodbye to our Grade 2 students Alfred and Stella who are moving down south this summer, good luck for your futures.
We are also saying farewell to Sophia Zadeh who will be leaving to continue her studies at University of York.
Sophia has been a student of Elvet School of Dance school since she was 4 years old.
Sophia has completed her Tap and Modern exams up to Grade 5 and her RAD ballet exams from Pre-Primary up to Advanced Foundation. Sophia is currently working on Advanced 1 ballet. Sophia has also assisted in class with the pre-primary and primary children and on exam days for the last 3 years.
I have seen Sophia grow up into a beautiful young lady and the progress she has made over the last 15 years in her dancing is incredible, she has been an absolute joy to teach.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for your continued support especially with the refurbishment taking place at New College and the venue changes we have had to make.
Thank you to everyone for the lovely cards, gifts, wine, chocolates and flowers!
I have been truly spoiled, so very kind of you.
I hope everyone has a great summer, hopefully the sunny weather hasnāt gone away yet!
