Congratulations to everyone who received their A-level results today! If you’re looking for something new to try while at uni, or you’re already a seasoned rower- join HBBC! We’re a welcoming club with over 80 members, from people who had never touched a blade before uni, to those who have been rowing for most of their lives. The one we’ve all been waiting for…it’s finally time for Durham regatta!!
We have many crews racing on both days this weekend, so get yourselves down to the weir for some fabulous displays of rowing 🚣‍♂️

Hexham regatta was very successful for Hild Bede Boat Club, with two squads coming away with medals!
In div 2, the womens 2V won their first race against St Aidens college, and had such a close race against Collingwood that they had to rerow, sadly losing by 1 length.
The Nov men won their first race against Collingwood by 3 lengths, losing against Hatfield in the semi-finals.
The mixed 8+ won their first race against Van Mildert by 3 lengths, going on to win against Grey college in the final to win themselves a medal!
The mens 4+ won their first race against Trevelyan College easily, going on to beat Queen Elizabeth High School in the semi-final. They beat Hatfield by 1 length in the final, winning the event!! This was the first time the boys had won an event, and they have now become one with their medals.
This was a very successful day for Hild Bede, and with Durham Regatta right around the corner it is looking very promising! 🩵

When the senior Mens captain attempts publicity…he insisted I added music but personally I prefer the squeaking. In all seriousness we are very happy to announce that “Harry Bateman”, our wooden single that has been out of action for many years now, is now in rowable condition, thanks to (as so nicely demonstrated by him in this video)

This weekend all our finest Hild Bede rowers will take to the Wear for one of the finest demonstrations of rowing you’ve ever seen. The weather is looking *scorchio* so come on down for a well earned break from all that revision for some entertainment while you tan ☀️🍦
