Following the news of the new club name it has been confirmed that Steve O’Reilly and Micky Nathan will be joint managers of the men’s first team for the 2026/27 season.

Both worked extremely hard to guide Dunstable Town to safety and keeping, step five status last season and did an excellent job gaining 18 points from the last eleven games to finish fourth from bottom, two places outside the relegation zone.

They will now work towards assembling a squad of players for pre-season to represent the new Dunstable Football club.

HUGE NEWS: Welcome to Dunstable FC!

Following up on the positive and constructive discussions we laid out in our joint statement, we're absolutely buzzing to share a massive update with you: The Football Association (The FA) has officially approved the merger between Dunstable Town Football Club and AFC Dunstable! This is a massive step forward for the future of football in our town.

You spoke, and we listened! After engaging with our dedicated fans and owners, we’ve agreed on the perfect name for our brand-new, unified club: Dunstable FC! It’s official, your new football club has a name!

As a community benefit society the last hurdle we need to clear is getting the final sign-off from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

To make sure you don't miss a single thing, over the next couple of weeks we will launch our new social channels, please jump on board and follow Dunstable FC to hear things first. .

Once the FCA gives us the green light, we’re immediately cracking on with appointing key board members and staff. Our number one focus is clear: getting things absolutely right on the pitch! We’ve got some really exciting news coming your way over the next couple of weeks.

The work to be done:
Appoint the board: Building a strong leadership team.
Appoint the coaching teams: Finding the right leaders for our players.
Start recruiting players: Building a squad you'll be proud of.
Create our club ethos: Defining what it means to be Dunstable FC.
Confirm the badge design: Finalising our new look.
Design the custom kit: Getting us ready for match day.
All systems go on the youth section: Investing in the future of our town’s talent.
Don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled for news about how to become an owner. Remember, Dunstable FC will be community-led, so look out for opportunities to own a share in your club.

Thank you for your incredible support as we build Dunstable FC together!

As we look forward to the exciting possible merger of the two football clubs in Dunstable, this weekend is the last game of a pretty tough season for all involved at AFC Dunstable.

This club has meant so much to so many over the years including me as a fan for over 20 years. While the future is bright ☀️ this weekend is a celebration of our past. Many past players (youth, first team, reserves) and managers will be down to celebrate. We would love to see the people of Dunstable out in force.

Plus it’s happy hour at Creasey between 1 and 3 at £3 a pint! What’s not to love.

Hope to see you there ⚽️

Thank you to all of those that attended the fan engagement session yesterday, it was a fabulous evening and great to see both AFC and DT fans mingling and engaging. A great insight what one united future could look like. Over the coming weeks we will share some of our thinking.

We shared tonight that we are still waiting for formal acceptance from the FA. Everything has been submitted and we are just waiting the final confirmation that this merger can go ahead. Everything has been submitted.

You will be the first to know as soon as we receive a response!
