We welcomed Tweedbank Primary P6's to the centre yesterday for a day of paddling and getting wet! It was rather chilly and windy but they tackled everything in their stride. What a wonderful bunch you are!

The wind continued to build after the bus left leaving only hardy wingers on the water and us worrying the flag pole was going to fall down!

Whitterings from Whiteadder April 17th 2026

The fishing season is well under way and fishing boats are in the water.

We are now open for pre-arranged activities such as birthday parties, school group sessions and for paddleboard and kayak hires. For paddleboard and kayak hire please follow the link https://www.whiteadderwatersports.co.uk/craft-hire.

Dinghy hire will open soon once the safety boats are ready for launch. Our AALA and RYA accreditation requires these to be launched before we can offer sailing activities.

The fishing season is well under way with sydicates forming well. We still have one fishing boat available - £300 per syndicate

Syndicates can be groups of between two and six Adult Season Permit holders.

Yesterday was a productive day, prepping for the coming season!

Fishing Boats in the Water "tick"

The season will start with fishing (as of 1st April) which will be followed by group bookings and afterschool sailing. We are in the process of finalising the details for this and it will be advertised soon. Our summer programme will also follow soon as we dust off our cobwebs!

Happy New Year to you all!

We are slowly waking up (some of us quicker than others) after the holiday period!

2026 day passes and annual passes are now available via the website so start planning for a fun year ahead. Fishing passes will appear soon in preparation for the fishing season starting in April.

We are already taking individual and group bookings for custom watersports sessions so do get in touch with your enquiries and requests and we will do our best to acccomodate you.

We very much looking forward to meeting you out on the water in 2026.

Thank you to the team who helped shift the fishing and sailing boats from the beach last Sunday. Its was good timing as the weather closes in a bit. Water levels are also starting to rise. Our marker on the beach is slowly being encroached by water (red arrow!)

Operations report!

Well....finally we have had rain, however we did not expect to find a new canyon at the centre when we arrived yesterday. Please take care as the ground around it is very fragile and collapses very easily (it swallowed a fishing boat which thankfully we recovered).

Be aware where the "canyon" meets the reservoir there is a very sudden drop - swimmers be aware. Thankfully I had my drysuit and bouyancy aid on when I tested it for you yesterday!!!
