CBPS Dunoon Trophy 2026 Results

There were grey skies above and plenty of midges but the rain stayed away for most of the day as the players battled it out at this year's CBPS Dunoon Trophy

Defending champion Chris Carson retained his title in style, shooting a sensational 65, beating Andrew Barton in second by 9 strokes.

The Wilson & Bisset Trophy for the best nett score was a closer affair with Iain Henderson edging out Jake Campbell with a better inward half and a superb nett 63.

The Dunoon Burgh Centenary Trophy, awarded to the team with the best 3 scores from 4 was won by Crawford Richmond, Andrew Laycock, Iain Henderson and Fraser MacDonald with a superb 204

Credit must go to Greens Convenors George McDonald and Gary Jackson and Greenkeeper David Owens for presenting the course in great condition.

Finally Cowal Golf Club extends it's thanks to Steven Shaw of Cowal Building & Plumbing Supplies for their continued support and sponsorship of the Dunoon Trophy and the club generally.

Here we go, it's the big one! The draw for the 80th 🏆Dunoon Trophy 🏆 sponsored by Cowal Building & Plumbing Supplies is now available.

Late entries are accepted via the Scottish Golf app or by emailing [email protected].

In addition to the fantastic array of prizes available in the event itself, we will also be running a World Cup themed sweepstake in the shop.

We look forward to welcoming everyone on Saturday and wish all competitors the best of luck competing for the silver.

⛳️ TEE UP FOR THE 80th DUNOON TROPHY! 🏆

Cowal Golf Club is thrilled to host The 80th Dunoon Trophy Open Competition on Saturday, 6th June 2026.
Here is everything you need to know about this major event:

🏌️‍♂️ Tournament Details
Format: 18-hole strokeplay event.
Course Setup: Men will play from the long course white tees and women from the long course red tees.
Eligibility: Open to all amateur players with a valid WHS Index (maximum index for Juniors under the age of 18 is 18.4). Playing handicaps capped at 24 on the day.

⌚Tee Times: 07:28 to 09:04, and 11:52 to 14:08.

💰 Prizes & Trophies Up For Grabs

Best Gross Score: The historic Dunoon Trophy + £120.

Best Net Score: The Wilson & Bisset Trophy + £120.

Team Trophy: Put together a 4-person team (best 3 net scores count) to split the team prize pot.

More Ways to Win: Prizes for 2nd through 5th places in both individual trophies, plus Nearest the Pin and Longest Drive contests on holes 9 and 13.

Members: £12
Visitors: £15
(Optional 4-man team entry: Additional £3 per person)
⚠️ Act Fast! The tournament is limited to a maximum field size of 90 players. If entries exceed 90, spaces will be awarded based on handicap index.

Cowal Long Loop (CR 70, Slope 130)

On a day of mixed weather conditions Cowal members filled the prize-winning spots, Grant Stewart eclipsing the field with a stunning 5-under par 64 which included an impressive gross 37 back nine. Crawford Richmond, Finlay Thomas and our Junior Captain Connor MacPherson all tied on net 69 separated by better inward halves.

Thank you to our friends at Blairmore & Strone Golf Club and Innellan Golf Club for paying us a visit and to Shearwater Marine Services for their continued support of the club.
