We are just over a week away from our popular season finale.

Open to all golfers with a valid World Handicap index*, entries can be submitted via the "Events" tab on the Scottish Golf app. Alternatively please email your name, handicap reference (CDH) and preferred time zone to; [email protected].

Thank you to everyone, near and far, for the entries we have received to date. Entries close at 18:00 on Thursday 24th September. £5 from every entry fee will be donated to the British Heart Foundation

*Playing handicaps will be capped at 24.

We look forward to welcoming everyone and are eager to find out who will take home the claret jug this year.

Sponsors Day, Friday 11th September 2026

Dear Members,

Please be advised that the course will be closed from 4:00PM to 7:30PM on Friday 11th September as we host our annual Sponsors Day.

This event is a vital opportunity for us to express our gratitude to the sponsors whose generous support contributes so much to Cowal Golf Club throughout the year.

Key Details:

15:40 – Course Vacated: All members must be off the course by 3:40 PM. This ensures all visiting teams can walk safely to their allocated tees ahead of the event.

16:00 – Course Closed & Tournament Start: The Sponsors Day Texas Scramble will begin at 4:00 PM with a sh***un start.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us run a smooth event for our sponsors.

⛳ Jim Carroll Memorial Trophy ⛳

Congratulations to Cowal's Finlay Thomas edging out Captain Consistency, sorry, Junior Captain Connor MacPherson by a single point to capture the Jim Carroll Trophy.
Our pre-tournament odds proved accurate as Finlay returned an impressive 39 stableford points in a round that included 4 birdies.
The club extends its heartfelt thanks to Jimmy's family who donated prizes for the event and to visiting players for participating.

Keep the excitement going after the Cowal Highland Gathering and tee it up at Cowal Golf Club! ⛳️✨

We are proud to host The Jim Carroll Memorial Open on Sunday, 30th August 2026. Open to both female and male golfers with a valid WHS index, this 18-hole handicap Stableford competition will take place over our shorter "loop" course from the white tees.

Key Event Details:

Date: Sunday 30th August 2026
Format: 18-Hole Handicap Stableford ("Loop" course)
Eligibility: Open to female & male golfers with a valid WHS index (Under 18s welcome to enter, but ineligible for the sweep).
Entry Fees: £10 for Members | £15 for Visitors (Includes sweep & 2s for ages 18+)

Over 70s Event at Cowal Golf Club! ⛳️🏆

We had a fantastic turnout for our annual Over 70s Invitation (organised by John Comrie), with our veteran members taking to the course for a 12-hole Stableford competition.

The Results
It was an amazingly tight finish at the top, with the top three players all tied on 24 points! After a countback, Club Captain Liam O’Loughlin presented the prizes:

🥇 1st Place: Michael Cannon (24 pts, winning on countback)

🥈 2nd Place: John Comrie (24 pts, runner-up on countback)

🥉 3rd Place: Douglas Galloway (24 pts)

A total of £180 in prizes was awarded, alongside two 4-ball prizes generously donated by Cowal Golf Club.
