Another busy weekend of racing with Tri Limits members competing across triathlon events, with plenty of strong performances and age-group success 👏

A beautiful sea swim, a fast bike course featuring a brutal climb, and a tough run to finish. Narrowly missed out on the podium with 4th in AG 🍫
Gary Dickson – 1:18 6th in AG and clearly still benefiting from the honeymoon glow 😎👏
Aaron McBride – 1:48 First ever triathlon 🥳 A brilliant achievement, hopefully the first of many.

From 70.3 first-timers to World Championship qualifiers, this was one of the club’s biggest and most successful weekends of the year. Huge congratulations to everyone who raced, supported, and represented Tri Limits so brilliantly. 👏🔥

🚴‍♂️ Tri Limits Take On Mizen to Malin 🚴‍♂️

At the end of June, members of Tri Limits Triathlon Club will be cycling the length of Ireland from Mizen Head to Malin Head – almost 400 miles in just 4 days.
The challenge is all in aid of Prostate Cancer Research, raising funds and awareness for a cause that touches so many families.
We would be hugely grateful for any support. Every donation, no matter the size, will help make a difference.

🚨 A small number of additional entries are now available for Tri Tyrone 70.3 on 19th July 2026.

Following our refund deadline and the processing of our waiting list, we have released a handful of remaining entries. These are now live on the Triathlon Ireland website and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

With the event also hosting the Irish Middle-Distance Championships, demand is expected to be high.

Race Weekend Round-Up 🏃‍♂️☀️🚴‍♂️

We had members take on three different distances at Triathy this weekend. After a delayed start, the sun eventually made an appearance and the event turned into a fantastic day with a brilliant atmosphere.

First triathlon of the season at TriAthy! A PB was the perfect reward for the effort 💪

Lyn Shiels – 2:18
First Olympic distance triathlon and first event of the year. A great performance stepping up to the longer distance 👏

Taking on the 2km swim, 80km bike, and 18km run. A great river swim, fast bike course, beautiful weather, and just a light shower at the end of the bike to cool things down. Strong performance 🙌

⛰️ Slieve Donard Mountain Race
Cillian Reid – 1:15
The 82nd running of Ireland’s oldest mountain race, starting on Newcastle Main Street and heading straight to the summit of Slieve Donard before racing back down. Another strong run from our mountain goat Cillian 🐐👏⛰️

Great to get back in the open water ahead of race season. With over 30 athletes on our first night back in Eskragh Lough, coach Mark took us for a pre water warm up, prep and acclimation routine. The water was a lovely 19 degrees.

Club members are getting ready for TriAthy this weekend, Bolton 70.3 next week and then our neighbours Tri The Orchard (Armagh Pikekickers) in a few weeks.
