Congratulations to junior members Adam U (yes another Adam!) and Adele who were both double winners at the Brucehaven club championships today. Adam won the men’s singles and doubles (with dad Gregor), and Adele won the ladies singles and 18u girls.

The dust has now settled on what was an extraordinary Tennis Club Championship Finals Day.

Four out of the seven matches played went to a full third set – more than any other year! Normally it’s just the Men’s Doubles, but this year we also saw three sets in the Men’s Singles, Ladies Doubles and Mixed Doubles as well, adding to the drama.

It’s great when the matches are so competitive and close!

The full results were as follows –

18u Girls - Orla bt Adele 7-5, 6-3
Men’s Doubles - Sean and Bob bt David and Chris 7-6(5), 6-7(5), 4-5 (ret)
18u Boys - Adam W bt Adam L 6-3, 6-2
Ladies Singles - Orla bt Skye 6-3, 6-3
Men’s Singles - Calum bt Aaron 5-7, 6-4, 6-2
Mixed Doubles - Sean and Friedi bt Rhys and Adele 6-3, 2-6, 6-1
Ladies Doubles - Jen and Skye bt Orla and Martha 3-6, 6-4, 6-4

Well done to everyone who played, and thank you to everyone who came along and supported the players and spent money at the barbecue and bake sale.
