Cioch Mountaineering Club

Cioch Mountaineering Club We are a small, friendly club based in Dunfermline, Fife, with members interested in hill-walking and various outdoor activities.

We are a small, friendly club with around 50 members who have a common interest in hillwalking and other outdoor activities. We arrange regular weekend meets in some of Scotland's most beautiful locations where we stay in independent or private bunkhouses and where the cost normally ranges between £8 - £17 per night. All experience levels are catered for - we have a number of members who have clim

bed all of Scotland's Munro's, some more than once, as well as members who are just starting their hillwalking experience. If you are thinking of joining, then please feel free to come along for a chat in the lounge bar at the Lyne Tavern in Dunfermline - where we meet every Thursday night at 9pm. Alternatively, please visit our website for further contact details - www.cioch.co.uk.

For those interested in the hills and within striking distance of Dunfermline, the Munro Legacy Exhibition will be on display at the Carnegie Library and Galleries from 16 January until 11 March. The exhibition, presented by the Munro Society, tells the story of Scotland’s mountains as a source of recreation, from its 19th century beginnings to the huge activity that it has become today.

The exhibition room is an impressive space and the Library and Galleries are located beside Dunfermline Abbey in the city’s historic centre.

Even better, there’s an excellent cafe in the building!
