Race report from the weekend at East Fortune Racing Circuit for Round 11&12

First weekend with the R6 at east fortune, gearing was all wrong so with the help from Willie mason and Liam Kiernan we were put in the right direction, made the changes and seen the improvements straight away doing a pb in the first race. Sunday morning was wet and miserable, stuck the wets on made a few changes to the front and rear and went out just to get some experience in the rain, gaining confidence each lap. Dried up for race 2 on the Sunday so stuck the slicks on and got fired up to go out and try get into the 1.05s on the r6, had a great race with a few lads before out braking myself into the chicane and nearly taking another rider out with me, kept it up right and rejoined loosing a 3 places, got the head down and came back through up to where we were and managed to do a 1.05.4, absolutely buzzing after it.

Onto the Superbike class, I just can’t get enough of the R1, every session we’re out we’re learning. Bike was mint all weekend apart from a small technical issue that we resolved between races. PBs on the R1 too of 1.04.7. Thanks to Ben Mcclusky and Sean McTaggart for the pointers over the weekend too it’s much appreciated lads.

Race report from Round 9/10 of the Scottish Championships. Knockhill reverse direction.

We were suppose to just be running the Superbike class for the rest of the season after selling the Triumph 765 but we had the chance of buying an R6 at the start of the week and before we knew it we were back on the grid in the 600 cup class 🙈😂

The race schedule was planned out so the superbikes were straight out after the supersport so it was off one machine and onto the next and straight back out again, hanging onto the R1 after 14 laps on the 600 wasn’t easy but it was definitely worth it. Big thanks to the pit crew for changing transponders and sorting tyre warmers for a quick bike swap 👏😂 Kerry, Susan and of course David doidge.

Chipping away at times in both classes and managed our personal bests on both machines 55.2 on the Superbike and 56s on the 600. Still a long way to go but we’re definitely heading in the right direction.

Looking forward to getting stuck in this weekend. First weekend of the season at knockhill for us, might be a late entry and a change in machinery for the supersport class, updates later 👀👀, always enjoyed the reverse weekend. If anyone’s up for the weekend, pop by the tent and say hello 👋

Race report from Round 3/4 East Fortune Race Circuit, where to start…

After a good day on Friday at Knochhill on the R1 we pulled it out the trailer on Saturday morning only to find it wouldn’t start, tried a few different things to see if we could get it going before plugging the code reader in to find it had thrown the crank shaft position sensor and without having a spare that was it parked up for the day, a big thanks to Bob Grant for having a spare and an even bigger thanks to David Doidge for driving back to Cupar to pick it up and then fitting it on Sunday morning to get us out on Sunday for Race 2 & 3 in the Superbikes.

Superbikes Race 1 - DNS
Race 2 - P6
Race 3 - P8

Supersport - First outing on the Triumph 765 since last year, was happy enough with how the weekend went, couple of mechanical issues but they were easily sorted. Rear Wheel bearing decided it had had enough on the cool down lap of Race 2 so the recovery bus was required, Race 3 I had cooked and warped the front discs by lap 4 so it was an early retirement.

Race 3 - DNF

The weekend was all about time in the seat and getting a feel for the bikes again after a long winter off them, we kept it upright and got the signature so all in all a decent enough weekend.
