Website Security Update

We recently identified and resolved a security incident affecting the British Obstacle Sports website.

Between 29 May and 4 June 2026, malicious code was present on the website following the exploitation of a vulnerability in a third-party WordPress plugin. The issue has now been fully resolved and additional security measures are being implemented.

Our investigation has found no evidence that member or user data held by British Obstacle Sports was accessed, compromised or extracted. Importantly, the BOS website does not store membership records, athlete data or payment information.

If you visited the website during this period and encountered unusual pop-ups, security warnings, or requests to run commands on your device, we recommend running a full antivirus or anti-malware scan and ensuring your software is up to date.

We apologise for any concern caused and would like to thank members of the community who reported the issue and helped us resolve it quickly.

Great news. British Obstacle Sports digital membership cards are now available again.

If you're competing in Elite or Age Group races at Spartan Scotland, please download your membership card and have it ready at registration. This will help make the check-in process quicker and smoother for everyone.

Your digital membership card is available through our new membership platform and can be stored on your phone for easy access on race day.

Not a member yet? Memberships and day passes are available via our website, allowing you to compete in Elite and Age Group categories at licensed events.

Thank you for supporting British Obstacle Sports and helping us continue to develop and grow obstacle sports across the UK.

Day 3 of racing and we’ve gone out with a bang! We had so many teams competing and it was really amazing to see so many Team GBR athletes representing the most joy-filled day of the weekend!
