Nicola started working with me a month before the chaos started early last year, initially we were doing personal training on the gym floor then had to transition into a combination of online coaching and outdoor personal training sessions.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Nicola’s goal when she first committed to the coaching process was simply to be fit enough to last 10 minutes on the Rugby pitch as she had recently joined Dunfermline Rugby Club. Personal training has really allowed her to surpass that goal and achieve more than what she expected of herself.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
From breathing practices combined with aerobic training and bodyweight exercises on the gym floor, she was able to adapt to at home, outdoor and online coaching which allowed her to continue progressing towards her goals and is now the strongest, fittest and most importantly happiest she has ever been physically.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I knew that improving her mindset and mental health was one of Nicola’s main goals behind working with me outside of the physical transformation. Nicola is now medication free and armed with a transformed mindset and education on health practices, a better relationship with food and further education on food choices to continue fuelling her physical and mental health to be at her best whilst working towards her future goals.

My personal training client Nicola showing you what’s achievable when your behaviours reflect your goals.

Nicola has improved her physical health and mental well-being, she now has an improved relationship with food, her body and physical ability. She has restored a regular menstrual cycle, and transformed her mindset which has allowed her to be one month free now of anti-depressants/anti-psychotic medication. I continue to watch Nicola progress each week mentally, and physically with her strength and performance in the gym, then lastly what you see above is -35KG in bodyweight which has all been achieved since the early months of 2020.

Not much I need to say here, but progress like this is what sets my soul on fire. What I will say is, I have watched Nicola go from strength to strength mentally, and alongside that progressively introducing new behaviours, forming new habits and of course adherence to those has resulted in -22.5KG in less than six months which sets her up nicely for any further improvements and goals she decides to pursue in the future.

Here’s what Nicola has to say about her experience so far:

“Before starting with Calum, I had been playing rugby for about 6 months. In January, I finally felt that it was the right time to take my health and fitness more seriously.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Since starting with Calum, I have lost over 20kg in weight, and I’m in the process of taking control of my mental health which has resulted in me reducing my medication from weekly to monthly for the first time in at least 10 years, but more importantly I have developed more confidence and self worth in myself.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Fortunately my weight loss has been a bi-product of my determination to improve my health and fitness, and improve my strength and performance so that I could get more time on the pitch at Rugby.

Previously I had always struggled with fitness, my eating habits and my relationship with food to the point of having bulimia for over a year and my long term struggle with mental health hasn’t helped my relationship with my weight and food either.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Calum’s approach works really well for me, he supports you and re-assures you throughout, all whilst pushing you outside of your comfort zone when it’s needed. The working relationship we have built has, as I said before, helped me improve on the pitch, but it has also massively helped to improve my confidence and self worth.

Another successful fat loss phase for my client Claire.

This is a result of small changes to daily habits and consistency alongside calorie adjustments when necessary and an individual specific training programme which has helped her lose another 13lbs in three months which is shown below.

Kris has had an incredible personal training journey so far, I’ve watched him go from strength to strength both physically and mentally, and I couldn’t be more excited to see the results he will achieve.

Here’s what Kris has to say:

“For years I have struggled to lose weight and due to my weight I’ve always had low body confidence. During this time I have also battled with my mindset, nutrition, and although I’ve tried in the past, I’ve never had any confidence in the gym so I haven’t stuck to any approach I’ve tried.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Since I’ve started personal training I have noticed a huge change in my body and in myself. I have lost two stone and a combined 54 inches around my stomach, chest, arms and legs so far.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My mindset has held me back from making progress with weight loss in the past. As I’ve always struggled with confidence in the gym, it makes a big difference having someone there to support you and take your mind off what’s going on around you, I now feel a lot more positive in the gym.

As someone who has always struggled with nutrition. With the new knowledge and approach I have learned, I’m now eating better than I ever have, and I feel a lot healthier for it.

Alongside not being able to lose weight I have suffered with sleep apnea for years so I’ve always had bad sleep habits. This was the last thing I would’ve expected to change by seeing a personal trainer. For over three months now, I haven’t noticed any symptoms of sleep apnea creep back in at all which is a great feeling.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Personal training is changing my life for the better. It was only last week that I was out for a friends birthday and the compliments I was receiving were unbelievable which made me feel like all the small changes have really made a huge difference and I felt so happy and comfortable in my own skin for the very first time in a long time, this feeling has only motivated me even more.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I still have weight to lose but not one day goes by now where I don’t think this is achievable after the progress I’ve made already. I can’t wait to see the results I’m going to achieve as I continue with personal training.”

Here’s what Richard has to say:

“Before I started personal training, running was my only exercise, and my goals for losing weight and changing my overall physique were concerned. I’ve always had a low opinion of my body image and low self confidence so I knew I had to make changes to improve my body shape.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I've been training with Calum now for 12 weeks and the changes, both physically and mentally, in that time, have been nothing short of phenomenal.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I have lost 25lbs, reduced my chest, stomach and legs by a combined 15 inches and added 1.5 inches to my arms, and I’ve cut 80 seconds from my per minute mile. More importantly my overall physique has changed so much in such a short space of time.

I'm starting to develop muscle and my physical appearance is changing for the better. From that I have gained an enormous amount of confidence, knowledge and self belief that I can achieve great things. With the right approach and application, things I previously thought were impossible and unattainable are not and are most definitely within my grasp.

I also had a fear and a lot of misconceptions about going to the gym, so it was a major hurdle for me to even step into one initially. I needn't have worried, as Calum is an incredibly knowledgable and likeable guy whose approach to training is both informative and challenging, but very enjoyable. I always leave the gym with some new knowledge or insight into training, or some new information to chew over with regard to mindset and attitude.

Finally, not only do I feel in the best shape of my life, and getting fitter/improving my physique every session, but I am excited at the possibilities that the future will bring with regard to my journey to be the best version of myself.”

Both and are seriously passionate about their area of expertise, the intelligent and scientific approach they take is fascinating and it’s an incredible opportunity to be able to learn from them.

As a result of her hard work she has lost 15lbs, went from a size 14 to a comfortable size 10 on her lower body and size 8 on her upper body, and has reduced her chest, waist, legs and arms by a combined 22 inches.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m really proud of Gail and the commitment she has made to improving her body shape, nutrition and lifestyle.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
She now has a better relationship with food, a greater understanding of resistance training and now has the confidence to train on her own. What’s most impressive is the impact personal training has had on her mindset, and the appreciation she has towards her body shape.
