End of Season Review
This was a difficult season for us. With so many of last year's team moving on it took a lot of determination from the guys to complete the season. Due to lack of numbers we started the season poorly and contemplated throwing in the towel after some very disappointing results with a bare bones team.
We eventually managed to bring in some great additions to bolster the squad and managed to go win every game from November to April, picking up some good results against Townhill and our best pals Dunfermline West End. We also managed to top our group stage in the Fife Sunday Trophy putting us in the top semi final.
Eventually we were put out of both the league cup and fife trophy competitions by Eddys Bar. No shame in that as they have gone invincible in the league and look like they are going to win every Fife trophy and potentially even the Scottish Cup. Although maybe there is a bit of shame in the 12-1 pumping they gave us in our semi final...
In the end we finished top of the bottom split of the league which is a good achievement given our start to the season. We have had our moments, being the only team to take points from Eddys in the league and also the late comeback against West End to preserve our 100% win rate against them.
Unfortunately this was Matt's last season as manager as he is stepping down due to work commitments. I want to thank Matt for all he's done for us for the last two years. From helping bring us our best season yet last season, being one of the main driving forces to keep us going this season, as well as all the effort behind the scenes securing sponsors, bringing in new players, fundraising, washing the kits and doing the water bottles. He's been brilliant for the team and will be sorely missed.
It'd be easy to write this season off but that would do a disservice to the lads who kept showing up when things were hard. We're in a good position now and the lads are looking forward to picking up some silverware next season! Thank you as ever for all your support
