Over the coming days we’re going to be focussing on our 2026 Champions. First up, Ayden Wilson. After securing his first Overall Scottish C1 Cup Championship in 2025, this year he made it two in a row, becoming only the second multiple Champion in the category history. A dominant start to the season 2026 saw him leading comfortably with two meetings to go, but following Marc Nisbet having an impressive run on the anti-clockwise triple header, and Ayden suffering mechanical gremlins with his fuel pump. He came into the season finale playing catch up for the first time all season.
Ayden started racing with the SMRC in 2022, and has achieved plenty of success. In 2024 he was voted the most promising up and coming Scottish racing driver in, and was presented the Sheila Whyte trophy. Since 2022 Ayden has registered the most race starts in the Scottish C1 Cup from all the drivers to have ever competed in the championship.
As a family ran entry, Ayden and his team have proven to be a popular champion around the paddock. There are rumours Ayden is planning on moving to a new challenge in 2027, which we wish him all the best for. We are sure he will find success no matter what, or where he is racing!
