Over the last month or so we’ve had several serious issues reported to us about conduct from these age groups. These issues have arose from parents, coaches and players and have ranged from kids punching, biting and kicking, coaches swearing at children and parents entering the field of play.
I posted this during the winter break but I’m posting the SYFA disciplinary code below to show the sanctions available to us towards teams/individuals that continually fail to conduct themselves in the proper way. It’s not something we want to use but we’re not willing to allow the actions of some to ruin the league for others. The majority of issues seem to be coming from tier 1 games, I’m sure everyone wants to see their players progress but at its core the league is here to provide a safe space for children of all abilities to enjoy their football, any teams that can’t accept this should begin to look for a new league for their team.
