✨ The Art of Slowing Down began last night at Heart Space Yoga. ✨
Do I have any photographs from our evening together? No.
Because last night wasn’t about capturing the moment, it was about being fully present in it.
There was something incredibly beautiful about watching a room full of women give themselves permission to pause. To exhale. To soften. To simply be, rather than constantly feeling the need to do, achieve, rush, and keep going.
Together we explored nervous system basics, discussed why so many of us feel stuck in stress and overwhelm, and discovered the breath as one of the most powerful tools we have available to us every single day.
One of my favourite moments came at the very end of the evening…
A lovely friend shared that she had almost not come along because she felt it wasn’t a productive use of her time. She thought perhaps her evening would be better spent at the gym or weight training.
Then she smiled and said,
“Actually, that was probably the most productive use of my time I’ve ever had.”
What an incredible realisation, I am so happy and humbled 🥹
We live in a world that teaches us productivity is always doing more, moving faster, achieving harder. Yet sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is slow down enough to hear ourselves think, breathe deeply, and reconnect with what truly matters.
Mindfulness matters! Rest matters! Presence matters.
And perhaps adding little pockets of slow into our lives is exactly what helps us navigate the fast pace of everything else.
I already cannot wait for Week Two. 💜✨
