After an unbelievable weekend for Be More Charlie and more than £10,000 raised at our first Family Fun Day, there’s not much time to put our feet up… 😂

Next up — The Inaugural Be More Charlie Ball.

We’re putting together what we hope will be a brilliant night, and we’d absolutely love to fill the room with people coming together once again for Charlie and Be More Charlie. 🩵

It was such an honour to be part of Charlie’s big day yesterday. 🩵

🩵 Wow. What a day.

We honestly don’t even know where to start.

We’re absolutely knackered, emotional and completely overwhelmed by the support we’ve had today.

There are so many people we need to thank properly, and we will. But tonight we just don’t have the words or the energy to do it justice. 😂🩵

So for now, from me and Rachel, thank you.

To everyone who came along and made today what it was, we genuinely can’t thank you enough.

Seeing The Canniepart full of people there for our wee boy was something we’ll never forget.

We hope we made you proud today, Charlie. 🩵

GAVIN RAE SIGNS FOR CHARLIE’S TEAM! 🩵

What a player to add to the squad for Sunday.

A Scotland international, Dundee captain, Hall of Famer and a man who made 300+ appearances for the Dark Blues.

Gav captained Dundee to the 2013/14 Scottish Championship title, lifting the trophy and helping take the club back to the Premiership. 🏆

But his career went well beyond Dens Park.

He played for Rangers, Cardiff City and Aberdeen, represented his country, and played on two of the biggest stages in British football — a Scottish Cup Final at Hampden with Dundee and an FA Cup Final at Wembley with Cardiff City. 🏟️

Hampden. Wembley. Scotland. Dundee captain.

And this Sunday…

We genuinely can’t thank Gav enough for giving up his time and joining Charlie’s Team for a day that means so much to us and our family.

When we first started putting Charlie’s Team together, we never imagined we’d end up with some of the names that have agreed to pull on the shirt for him. The support we’ve had from everyone involved has been incredible. 🩵

And who knows… we might still have one or two surprises before Sunday. 👀⚽️

RYAN DOW SIGNS FOR CHARLIE’S TEAM! 🩵

Another brilliant addition to the squad for Sunday, and this time we’ve got someone who is still out there playing every week! 🔥

Ryan has made 400+ senior appearances, representing Dundee United, Ross County, Peterhead, Dunfermline and now Arbroath, as well as helping Peterhead win the 2018/19 League Two title. 🏆⚽️

Still playing. Still competing. And on Sunday, playing for Charlie. 🩵

Ryan remains a first-team player with Arbroath, making it even more special that he’s giving up his time to join Charlie’s Team.

A massive thank you to Ryan for getting involved and helping us make Sunday such a special day for Charlie and everyone coming along. 🩵

We couldn’t think of a better person to kick off the announcements for Charlie’s Team. 💙

We’re Dee-lighted to confirm that Dundee FC legend Barry Smith will pull the boots back on and join us for our Be More Charlie Charity Football Match on Sunday 13th September. ⚽️

Barry enjoyed a fantastic career in the game and is, of course, a huge part of Dundee FC history. But for us, this one is about something much bigger than football.

Barry is giving up his time to come along, play his part and help us raise funds and awareness for families affected by childhood cancer. 🎗️

And this is only signing number one… 👀

We’ve got some brilliant names to announce over the coming days as Charlie’s Team starts to take shape.
