π Charlieβs Story π
Charlie was the smiliest, bravest, cheekiest boy.
He had a way of lighting up every room, making people laugh, and facing everything life threw at him with a strength that was far beyond his years.
On the 9th of June 2025, Charlie was diagnosed with DIPG, an aggressive and devastating brain tumour. Just days before, he had been running his school endurance race, finishing 2nd and proudly bringing home a silver medal.
The day before his diagnosis, Charlie was playing football β something he absolutely loved. It was that day that we noticed he seemed a little off balance. It worried us, but we never could have imagined what was coming.
We were told Charlie would have between 6 to 12 months.
He gave us 9.
And in those 9 months, he showed more courage, strength, and determination than most of us could ever imagine.
Charlie continued to play football for his beloved Fairmuir throughout his treatment, right up until the final game of the season β where he scored a hat trick. That was Charlie all over.
No matter what he faced, he did it with a smile.
During his illness, we learned just how important the little things are. Time together. Making memories. Laughing when you can. Holding onto every moment.
Charlie passed away on the 2nd of March 2026 at just 11 years old, but the impact he made in his short life will stay with us forever.
Be More Charlie was created in his memory β to carry his spirit forward.
To help other families facing childhood cancer.
To ease the pressures they face.
And to give them the chance to make memories that will last a lifetime.
Because if Charlie taught us anything, itβs this:
Be brave. Be strong. And always find a reason to smile π
