Always good to have two match reports from the same game haha. Got sent this Saturday night but I was drunk an forgot it got sent but here’s another🙌😂
We lost our near 4 month unbeaten record in disappointing fashion today against Lochee Harp.
We went into today's game on the back of a physically demanding match against Lochee Utd on Tuesday. Despite this we started the game well and were on the front foot from the first whistle. Within the first 10 minutes we took the lead after some good play put Woodsy through on goal and he duly took his chance and lashed it into the net 1-0 Bankies. We were still on top for the next 20mins or so of the half but in the last 15 minutes Harp came right into the game and were probing for the equaliser. One of their dangerous attacks led to the ball falling to the Harp player in our box, he hut it well but Lennon pulled off a great save to tip round the post. 1-0 Bankies HT.
Second half started with Harp pushing for the equaliser. We were causing our own problems aswell with some slack passing and getting caught on the ball in dangerous areas. Before long the equaliser came. A pass back to Lennon forced him to clear it, the wind caused havoc with the ball and the clearance fell to the Harp player on the edge of our box and he finished well into the corner. 1-1
That seemed to waken us up and we started playing some good stuff again. Within 5 minutes of losing a goal we were awarded a penalty after Waters played the ball over the top, Grierson got there before the defender and keeper and was wiped out by the keeper. Stephen Ramsay stepped up and the keeper pulled off a great save down to his right hand side to keep the scores level. Both teams were really going for the win at this point and had good chances to take the lead with some last ditch defending and good goal keeping on both sides keeping the score level. With around 2mins left of normal time disaster struck! Harp were pushing and were awarded a penalty after a shot from one of their players struck Stephen Ramsay at the top of his arm. It was a really poor decision from the ref in our opinion. Stephen was only 3/4 yards away from the player when he hut it and his arm was down by his side. Not sure what he could have done to get out of the way but the ref gave it and the Harp player tucked it away. 2-1 Harp. As we were trying to push up the park we got hit on the counter and conceded another right on full time. 3-1 Harp FT.
On the balance of play, I don't think we deserved to lose this game but that's football. No disgrace losing against a good Harp team full of pace and youth. The exact opposite to us. 😂
We move on to league duty next week where we need to bounce back against the Stobie.
C’monnnnnnnnn the biyzzzzz♥️⚽️
