🌟What a night🌟

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who came along to our Medium Night Fundraiser🔮✨

We had such a great night, and thanks to everyone’s support, ticket sales and our raffle, we raised a fantastic amount for the boys💛🖤

A huge shoutout to Karen Docherty for entertaining us and making the night such a success.

Big thanks to CLUB 83 (OFFICIAL) for hosting us, and to Rough & Fraser for keeping everyone fed with their delicious sausage rolls and cakes.

And of course, a massive thank you to Stacy Duncan for organising everything and putting together the hamper for the raffle🎁🧡

It was definitely something a bit different for us, but what a success and every penny raised helps us keep pushing forward and doing what we can for the boys. ⚽️

Thanks again to everyone who came, donated, bought raffle tickets, ate the cakes 😂 or simply supported us, we appreciate you all more than you know👏

Match Highlights from 13.09.26 ⚽️💛🖤

League match number two this morning as we welcomed Dundee West Royals to Fairmuir on a glorious day for football.

The sun was out, the grass was wet early on, and it was perfect conditions for a game of football.

We spoke before the game about needing to be much more streetwise in our football today, not giving away cheap goals, being aggressive with our press, and making sure we won our individual battles.

From the first whistle, the boys did exactly that.

We started the game with a real intensity and took a deserved lead midway through the first half. A few minutes later, we doubled our advantage with a good finish to make it 2-0.

Our overall play probably deserved a third goal before half-time, but we just needed a little more composure in the final third to make the most of the opportunities we created.

We asked the boys at half-time to try and keep the same tempo in the second half.

We did start to tire a little in the heat, but our third goal was of real quality and something we have been working on with the boys, so it was very pleasing to see it come off in a game.

Credit must go to Dundee West Royals, who never let their heads go down. They continued to come at us and scored two quick-fire goals to bring themselves right back into the game.

The last five minutes were certainly nervous, but the boys should take a huge amount of pride and credit for seeing the game out. They were under a lot of pressure in those final few minutes, but they stood up to it and battled right until the final whistle.

A really good game of football between two committed teams who both wanted to play and compete. Credit to both sets of boys for giving everything and making it such an enjoyable game.

For us, there are plenty of positives to take, but the biggest thing is the belief we need to take from today. The boys showed they can compete, battle and, importantly, find a way to win when the pressure is on.

We’ll keep working hard, keep learning and keep improving. There’s a lot more to come from this group, but days like today should give the boys the confidence to believe in themselves and each other.

Keep pushing, keep believing and keep working together. 💪⚽

East Region Round 2 ⚽️

Today we faced Dryburgh Maroons for the 2nd time this season on a wet and damp morning.

Credit to the boys after a slight dressing down following Thursday’s training performance, they set out the traps sharply and put Dryburgh under immediate pressure.

We moved the ball quickly, used the space really well and established a comfortable half-time lead.

Four changes at HT kept the tempo high, and we had a thoroughly dominant second half.

Most pleasing from a coach’s point of view isn’t the scoreline, it’s seeing some of the areas we’ve discussed over the last few weeks being worked on, along with the team working together and becoming tighter as a group👏

Huge credit to Dryburgh, who never once gave up and continued to compete right until the final whistle💪

Finally, a massive thanks to Rory and Layton for helping out in goals today it’s very much appreciated🧤

Focus now turns quickly to a tough week of training as we prepare for our 2nd league game against Dundee West Royals next Sunday.

Well done, boys💪🧡

It was great to see you playing with a smile today, something we should always look to do, regardless of the opponent⚽️

Tonight saw us begin our league campaign with Ferry Athletic Yellows the opposition a side who have had the better of us in our last couple of meetings.

Before the game, we asked the boys to believe in themselves.

We know they have shown that, on their day, they can compete with anyone, and tonight was another opportunity to prove that.

Credit to Ferry, they won the toss and chose to turn the teams around so they could have the wind at their backs.

They came flying out of the traps and put us under a lot of pressure during the opening 10 minutes. However, the boys stood firm, defended well and weathered the early storm.

With one of our first real attacks, we won a penalty.
Unfortunately, we couldn't convert from the spot, but that seemed to give the boys a bit of belief and we soon took the lead midway through the first half.

Ferry responded and managed to find an equaliser before half-time, leaving the game finely balanced going into the break.

We conceded an early goal in the second half, but once again the boys showed great character. Rather than letting their heads drop, they bounced back quickly and turned the game around to take a 3-2 lead.

The game then became a little scrappy for 5–10 minutes as tiredness started to creep in.

Ferry seemed to have more energy as we moved into the latter stages and unfortunately we eventually found ourselves 6-3 down.

That was disappointing, as there were definitely moments where we could have defended better and made it more difficult for Ferry to score.

However, the boys never stopped fighting. We managed to grab another goal back and even hit the post from a fantastic free-kick as we continued to push right until the final whistle.

Overall, Ferry probably just about deserved the win, as they were better in some of the key moments, but we have to give our boys a lot of credit for the effort and character they showed throughout the game.

They played their part in what was an entertaining and competitive game of football.

There are certainly plenty of learnings for us to take from tonight, especially as we adjust to a new league setup and a higher level of football.

We know there is plenty to work on, but the important thing is that we keep believing, keep working hard in training and keep improving together.

Heads up, boys lots more football to come. ⚽️💛🖤
