Yesterday, Sensei Aaron Scott led Kizuna Karate Scotland taster sessions at St Andrews RC Primary School, introducing karate to over 150 pupils.

He was assisted by three of our Senpai, who are currently working towards their Saltire Volunteering Awards and gaining valuable experience in supporting classes and helping others develop.

It's great to see our younger members stepping up and taking on these opportunities. At Kizuna Karate Scotland, we're committed to developing not only strong karateka but also confident, capable instructors and leaders for the future.

Abit about Nicola:
Nicola Nixon is a 5th Dan black belt from Dundee with over 34 years of martial arts experience. Originally training in Shotokan Karate, Aikido, Kobudo, and Ju Jitsu, she has trained alongside some of the world’s leading karateka and has competed, coached, and refereed at World Championship level.

Despite struggling with mental health and confidence throughout parts of her journey, Nicola used martial arts to build resilience, self-belief, and purpose.

Today, she is recognised as one of Scotland’s leading female instructors and is the founder of Kizuna Karate Scotland, a safe, friendly, and hard-working organisation dedicated to helping students grow not only in martial arts but also in confidence, discipline, and personal development.
