My biggest flex isn’t that I go to the gym.

It’s that I get to go to my gym.

Not something I take for granted.

A few years ago, this was simply a place for me to train and coach my athletes. It wasn’t really a public gym. It was just my workspace.

Today, it’s grown into something much bigger.

I’m incredibly grateful to every member who’s trusted us with their training, and especially to my business partners, who have played a huge role in turning the ESPC into what it is today.

Premium equipment.

Open 24/7.

Sauna, hot tub, ice bath and massage chair.

But more importantly, a community of people who want to improve themselves.

I feel very fortunate to walk through these doors every day.

Thank you to everyone who’s been part of the journey so far.

A limited number of memberships are still available.

Most athletes don’t actually know what’s limiting their explosiveness.

They just train harder.

Force–velocity profiling changes that.

Joe came in for re-testing, previously we already identified where he needed to focus on most, and he has clearly done that because he smashed all his previous results. This is the huge advantage of doing a Force Velocity Profile with an athlete.

Because the issue can be you can have two athletes can have the exact same sprint time or jump height but for completely different reasons.

One may produce huge force but struggle to express it quickly.
Another may move fast but lack force production.

Same outcome. Different problem. Different solution.

That’s why force–velocity profiling matters.

It allows us to identify whether an athlete is:

* Force dominant
* Velocity dominant
* Or lacking balance between the two

From there, training becomes individualised instead of guesswork.

Heavy strength work isn’t always the answer.
Neither is endless plyometrics.

The goal is to improve the quality that is actually limiting performance.

Better acceleration.
Better jumping.
Better change of direction.
Better explosiveness.

Train smarter, not just harder.

Massive respect to Khamzat Chimaev as a fighter, still one of the most dangerous athletes in MMA and I’ve no doubt he’ll come back strong.

But this is exactly the point I was making weeks ago.

In MMA, people often confuse “hardcore” training with effective conditioning.

A brutal weight cut + excessive fatigue + poor recovery can leave athletes flat before they even step into the cage.

Conditioning isn’t about who can suffer the most in training.
It’s about who can perform the best under fatigue on fight night.

Harder isn’t always better.

“Find a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.”

A bit cliche but so true.

Over the past few years, my “work” has taken me to different cities, different countries, different gyms, working with athletes at the highest level, learning constantly, and building something I genuinely care about.

Don’t get me wrong, there are long days, early mornings, and plenty of stress behind the scenes.

But when you actually enjoy what you do, it doesn’t feel like something you’re trying to escape from.

It feels like something you’re building.

Most people are chasing time off.

I’d rather build a life I don’t feel the need to take time off from!

If you’re early in your career or stuck in something you don’t enjoy it’s worth asking yourself:

Are you building something you actually want, or just passing time?

Because it wasn’t always like this for me, for years I was ‘living for the weekend’ or counting down the days until my next week off work.

Trust me, the sooner you get out of that way of “living” the better!

Do this exercise before you do anything else.

Most BJJ athletes don’t gas because they’re “unfit.”

They gas because they’re inefficient.

If you’re constantly death-gripping…
Pulling with your arms instead of positioning with your hips…
Staying tense every second of the round…

Of course your forearms are going to blow up.

That’s not a cardio issue.
That’s energy leakage.

And then what do most people do?

They go for a run.

Running doesn’t fix isometric grip endurance.
It doesn’t teach you to relax under pressure.
It doesn’t improve your ability to control tension.

Fix your technique.
Then build the right conditioning around the sport.

High-level guys don’t look calm by accident.

Fitness matters.
But how you manage fatigue matters more.
Most fighters train the engine.
Very few train how to use it.

Online training doesn’t work when people are left alone with a plan and no support.

Coaching isn’t about motivation, it’s about structure, adjustment, and decision-making.

I’ve opened a small number of online coaching spots.
