Important Tayside & Fife Basketball News Flash -
The famous Tayside & Fife Basketball Blitz Tournament returns to the courts on Saturday 31st August from 10.00am till 4.00pm at the Dundee Regional Performance Centre (RPC). Please come along to support your favourite players and watch your team battle it out for the title of 2024 Blitz Tournament Champions. This year will see 10 teams competing for the Blitz Tournament Trophy. Watch all the action at the RPC Dundee, Mains Loan, Dundee, DD4 9BX. Free entry and free parking, just bring the cheer.

With our season's final game played last week, congratulations to Dundee Phantoms who made it a league and cup double this season. Thanks to all our referees, table officials and volunteers, who did a great job this year and who without, we would have no league. See you next season!!

This Sunday, Blairgowrie Beavers take on Dundee Phantoms in the Tom Hermiston Cup Final at the Regional Performance Centre, 5.30pm tip. Spectators are welcome with entry being free of charge.

This is part of a fantastic weekend of basketball at the Regional Performance Centre as Basketball Scotland host their Scottish Cup Finals at the venue also. Details in picture below.

Furthermore, on Friday, the FIMBA Great Britain over 70s are playing Ireland over 70s, 7.30pm tip in a warm-up game for European Championships in Italy later in the year. And on Saturday, Scotland 65+ are playing Ireland 65+ for the Bobby Taft trophy, a now annual international game.

Please note a ticket is required to attend the games on Saturday and Sunday (apart from the Tom Hermiston Cup). Details on how to purchase a ticket can be found on Basketball Scotland's page.

We'd like to wish Andy and Russell, of the Beavers, well who both went down with nasty looking head injuries during the 2nd half of Monday's game. Hopefully a speedy recovery and back on the court soon!!

Monday saw our final game of the season being played with Dundee Phantoms taking on Blairgowrie Beavers in what was a title decider. Phantoms edged Beavers 70-57 to take the league title having a better head to head record, making it a league and cup double for the Dundee based side.

We would just like to thank all of those who have supported the running of the league this season, especially our referees and table officials without who we wouldn't have a league. It has been especially nice to see a number of new referees in the area this season take on numerous games.

The Phantoms defeated Nationals last night, 78-57, to secure the Tayside and Fife league title. The Phantoms are currently undefeated in the league with there only loss this season coming in the Tom Hermiston Cup final. One game left this season which takes place on Tuesday night v Nationals again. Let's go Phantoms!!

This Saturday sees St Andrews University take on Dundee Phantoms in the Tom Hermiston Cup final at the Regional Performance Centre, Dundee. The game will tip off at 6.50pm. Free entry for spectators.

Basketball Scotland also host the national finals at the Regional Performance Centre the same weekend. This Saturday sees 3 games being played before the Tom Hermiston Cup final. Those interested in attending can purchase tickets using the below link.
