Emma a hitting 125kg pb in her last ever session💪

It’s almost 3 years since we started working together and in that time Emma has gone from having trained a little, to being one of the strongest women I’ve trained.

She was as consistent as she could have been around her life and work and the results have paid off massively!

She leaves us to start a new chapter of her life in Malaysia and as much as I’m sad to see her go I’m so happy at how far she’s come and that she has this new amazing job opportunity!

Always sad when a client like this leaves but I also know that she’s fully competent enough to get the job done on her own!!

It’s a choice.

And just because you say you can doesn’t mean you will

BUT

There’s a lot more chance you will than if you simply say I can’t.

Remember our habits are things that we do repeatedly

So make a choice and tell yourself,

“I CAN!!”

Take your time setting up.

Things like foot and hand placement are very important.

So no matter if it’s a warm up set or your top set, make sure that you set up properly.

This will help the efficiency of the lift and reduce the chance of exercise.

If you’re unsure how to set up for all of your lifts then I’d recommend hiring a coach, online or 1-1.

This will be the quickest way for you to learn and if there’s anything you want to get down quickly it’s your form and technique.

Off-season training.

Most sports have seasons and the training you do in the gym should revolve around these seasons.

Jack plays rugby and has been in season since we started working together last year. Because rugby is a full on sport and he plays quite often we’ve had to make sure his gym volume is low so he doesn’t burn out and negatively effect his performance.

With this in mind we’ve been working on building power because the training for this is low rep and lots of rest. This should also help his performance by making him faster in the open field especially acceleration and more explosive in the contact.

This has been great and Jack has done a great job of sticking to his program and has made some great results!

But now we’ve entered the off-season it’s time for the fun stuff!

We have 3 months until pre-season, which is when we will build the cardio up, but until then it’s time to put on size.

Using hypertrophy we will not only add size but also work on movement patterns and muscular symmetry in order to minimise risk of injury.

Excited to see what kind of beast will come out the end of this training phase after seeing how disciplined he was with his last phase!💪💪

ME TIME.

It’s been a while since I’ve had a week off that wasn’t spoiled by covid but this one more than made up for it!

Kicked it off with 2 nights in Belfast for stag do, thanks for having me along again what a weekend!!

Then I spent the rest of the week training and hanging out with puppies young and old!

Back to it this week though and honestly I’m looking forward to getting back to all my amazing clients and continuing to smash our training and reach goals💪💪
