Another one of our boys have been smashing the school football, Robbie is the youngest in the team and has just finished his P7 year by winning two Cup Finals in a week.

Unfortunately he had to go to hospital after a goal line clearance ended in him being injured but that’s this wee guy all over, body on the line.

Huge congratulations to 4 of our boys on winning their School S1 League last night with St John’s.

Brilliant for them all to be playing in these games and having the opportunity to win trophies with their friends.

The season may be done but behind the scenes the hard work for the next one has already started.

We’re really excited to announce the signing of Harrison Allan from DUSC. Harrison brings lots of energy and great technique to our already strong squad. We’re sure he’ll help the team kick on again in the new season.

He only went and bagged himself a goal on his debut 😏.

Unfortunately not our day today, congratulations goes to Montrose for their win today and their season they’ve had.

That being said it’s also been a successful season for our own boys. Finished 2nd in the league, second in one cup and winners of the League Cup.

As a coaching team we’re very proud of their achievements in our first season at 11 a side and are excited to see what the next few years brings.

Well done boys, heads up! 🫶🏻⚽️

Unfortunately the boys didn’t get to play their last league game today as the other team forfeited which is becoming more popular in grassroots football in our area, it’s a real shame that kids from all teams involved miss out on game-time.

Today though we celebrate a very good first league season at 11 a side where the boys feel a little bit unfortunate to finish 2nd in the league to a good Montrose who overall deserved their win. Our kids have done us proud this year and there’s lots more to come from them.

Having won our first trophy a month ago we now have another Cup Final to play next week where we take on the league winners in what should be a really good game.

Come show the boys some support. 💪🏻⚽️

WINDY’S MATCH REPORT ⚽️📋

Broughty Utd 1️⃣ - 4️⃣ Maryfield Utd
League Game 19

Maryfield’s penultimate league game ended in style as the boys ran out comfortable winners against Broughty Utd, securing 2nd place in the league with teams around them having already completed their fixtures with us having one more league game to play.

The game started a bit stuffy with both sides feeling each other out in the opening stages before Maryfield struck first. A great ball played wide from Calum was fired across the box for Blair Nisbet to score his first of the night.

Just three minutes later Broughty levelled the game after a slack moment from Maryfield allowed a shot from the edge of the box to be side-footed into the far corner to make it 1-1.

After that, it became a largely one-sided affair as Maryfield began to dominate possession and create chances. On the 21st minute, a corner broke to Lukas McMaster on the edge of the area and he smashed the ball back toward goal to restore Maryfield’s lead at 2-1.

HT: 1-2

Maryfield started the second half brightly and only three minutes after the restart they extended the lead. After winning the ball in midfield, Calum looked up and produced a superb through ball for Blair Nisbet to run onto before calmly slotting home for 3-1.

From there the game never really looked in doubt. The back four dealt brilliantly with everything thrown at them while continuing to play excellent football from the back and launch attack after attack.

On the 67th minute Blair completed another superb hat trick. Great work from Robbie saw him drive into the box before cutting the ball back perfectly for Nisbet to smash home and make it 4-1.

Another very confident display from the team with some great individual performances aswell.

We now face Brechin in our last league game of the season this Sunday.

St Andrews Colts 0-7 Maryfield utd

Maryfield Utd produced another outstanding performance as they swept aside St Andrews Colts with a dominant 7-0 victory in League Game 17.

From the first whistle the boys looked sharp, moving the ball quickly and pressing high all over the pitch. It took only 4 minutes for the breakthrough as Rylee Millar opened the scoring after a bright start from Maryfield.

The pressure continued to build and Calum McIntosh doubled the lead on 13 minutes with a composed finish before Blair Nisbet added a third just two minutes later to put Maryfield firmly in control at the break.

Half Time: Maryfield Utd 3-0 St Andrews Colts

The second half started exactly the same way the first ended, with Maryfield attacking at pace and creating chance after chance.

Rylee Millar grabbed his second of the night on 35 minutes before Edison Matthews got himself on the scoresheet with a well taken finish on 44 minutes.
Daly Lunan added another just a minute later to cap off a brilliant performance from the youngster before Rylee completed his hat-trick in the 48th minute to round off an excellent evening for the Maryfield side.

A game where every player contributed to another strong all-round squad performance.
