Club Statement

The club would like to announce last night at the Dundee Saturday Morning AGM, Forfar Ajax have been accepted into the DSML for next season starting in division two.

Having decided in March to give up Sunday football next season the club firstly didnโ€™t think it was possible to continue under the same name but change of plan the club will remain as Forfar Ajax instead of Forfar West End Amateurs . The link with Forfar West End will remain though out the season and appreciate the hospitality from them last season and look forward to continue in the new season.

Management team from last season will remain with Alistair Wilson as Manager, Kieren Crighton as Assistant and Gary Balfour coming on board with a wealth of experience to help add to the coaching team.

The lads will now have a two week break before returning in July with 4 friendlies penciled in. 17 players have resigned for the new season with a few new faces to be announced in due course. ๐Ÿ‘€ โœ๐Ÿป

Ajax came into today final knowing a win would crown off an amazing season and closing the chapter on Sunday football for the boys with a quadruple.

Pre match a minute silence was observed as Ajax striker Ben Starkey dad unfortunately passed away recently thoughts go out to his family.

A few sore heads from the night before but the lads were up for it taking an early lead from Nick Fletcher. Before Harvey Reid bundled the ball over the line to put Ajax 2-0 up before the first water break in the hot weather and large crowd.

Ajax then were forced into early substitute as Fletcher and Starkey both struggling from the night before with Welsh and Flynn coming on.

Two finishes inside the box from Flynn and Balfour then put the Ajax up 4-0 at the break.

Ht - 4-0 Ajax

Second half started in similar fashion as Kelly now up top got on the score sheet before captain flynn got his second to put Ajax 6-0 up.

Keeper Fraser Reid was then off the bench and up top with his high press leading to him winning the ball back and slotting the ball past Milligan in the kirrie goals.

Kirrie then got a consolation at the end as the young winger finished it off to make it 7-1.

๐Ÿ‘Club would like to thanks firstly Forfar West End JFC for hosting another final and after match celebrations. Thanks to Angus & Mearns AFA for the running of the league, and everyone behind the scenes at Ajax with the large support coming down to celebrate the quadruple season.

Now the boys will have their presentation next Saturday at Forfar west end where the current team will take on ex players followed by end of season presentation.
