🧡 Dads vs Lads 🖤
What a brilliant day to finish off a great season.
The lads were out for revenge following their loss 2 years ago but the Dads (along with family and friends) were ready for the challenge.
Craigie Park the venue, and the game kicked off at 💯 mile an hour (or at least it felt like that)
Lads taking an early lead when a Smith communication howler led to finger pointing from goalkeeper Layton to his Dad Darren, it was hard to tell if Darren accepted responsibility with a small thumbs up but grumbled about no hearing the shout. Zach stepping in to send the lads into raptures.
This kicked the Dads into action, and minutes later, a great cross found its way to Zuker who doesn’t miss those with a great header and it was 1-1.
As he headed back to the centre, a wee nod to son Zach who was raging.
Mikee then scores a quick fire double, one being a superb cross (or was it a shot) which finds the top corner (it’ll be on his instagram later!)
Liam flapping like David Seaman in the World Cup years ago!
Josh with a quick turn of pace finds the target and it’s 3-2 Dads at half time.
Second half and the lads were taking this game really seriously, spinning the wheel for positions in the second half, and it seemed to work when Leo equalises after being miles offside but did I mention Mike Connelly was the ref?!
Mikee seething at his old man and we very nearly seen a red card, but Mike opted to give him a good talking too ‘shut the f* up Mikee!’
Sam then smashed into a tackle on Dad Fraser and wee Daz couldn’t resist flooring Danny in a 50-50, there was nearly fistycuffs.
The Dads edged ahead again when Dazzy makes up for his earlier error with a curly toe into the top corner! (It’ll be on his bebo later!)
He then signals to be took off and headed straight to the bar.
Josh cracks home another leveller and ref Mike announces ‘next goal the winner’
The game went on and on and on….
and just when the shout went up that this is going to have to be decided on penalties,
Danny charges into the box with bursting pace and was absolutely wiped out and hit the floor in agony, or did he leave his leg out?
Physio Mark ready to come to the rescue until Danny looked up and gave it the wink. Haydn seen this and protested to the ref but Mike who was having none of it and his finger pointed to the spot.
Fraser stepped up and made no mistake while Mikee was seen greeting about being on his hat trick no getting to take the penalty.

A great day to sign off the season, as we all headed to the bar for a sing song ‘we are the champions’ being selected a few times by DJ Gordon.
The Davidsons doing a superb job supplying the pizzas, and Jodi serving at the bar.
A top goal scorer trophy for Lucas (who collected from Paul’s pocket….)
A manager of the year trophy for Mikee and a few speeches thanking everyone’s contributions and then it was on to McGurtys for the Scotland game.
