A MESSAGE FROM THE GAFFER:
We were called “The Tans.” 🧡💙
13 years ago this all started with a bunch of little boys running about in oversized strips at fun fours.
Back then none of us knew where this journey would take us.
Honestly, when I first took this team over, I could never have imagined where football would eventually lead us.
What followed was thousands of miles travelled, freezing mornings, tough defeats, unbelievable highs, cup finals, league titles, changing room laughs, bus journeys, friendships, and memories that will stay with us forever.
We travelled across Scotland, around the UK, and even abroad together, something that felt beyond my wildest dreams when this all began.
And the crazy thing is… the trophies and wins only tell a small part of the story.
The real memories are countless.
The laughs on the buses.
The nights away.
The dressing room madness.
The moments after defeats and after wins.
The conversations.
The friendships.
Watching boys become brothers.
This team became part of our lives.
As coaches, we didn’t just watch these boys become footballers.
We watched them become young men.
And honestly, that’s what we’ll be proudest of.
To every player who pulled on that Fairmuir jersey over the years, thank you.
Thank you for your commitment.
Thank you for your loyalty to each other.
Thank you for the memories you’ve given us all.
You boys gave everything to this club and to each other right until the very end.
To the parents and families, thank you for trusting us with your boys all these years. The support, sacrifices, lifts, touchline encouragement, and belief never went unnoticed.
To my fellow coaches and volunteers, thank you for every bit of time and effort you poured into this group. We built something special together.
And somehow now…
it’s over.
The final whistle has gone on one incredible chapter.
But what a way to finish.
League Champions.
East Region Champions.
A 4-0 win in the final ever youth game together.
Poetic really.
The boys will now move onto adult football and new chapters in life, but what was created here will never disappear.
The bond.
The memories.
The laughs.
The madness.
The trophies.
The tough moments.
The family we became.
That stays forever.
One day, years from now, the medals will be tucked away, the boots long retired, and the scorelines forgotten.
But none of us will ever forget how this team made us feel.
A group of boys who became a family.
A club that became home.
A journey that gave us memories most people spend a lifetime searching for.
Thank you boys.
For every mile, every laugh, every battle, and every moment.
Forever proud to have been your coach.
And forever grateful that, for 13 unforgettable years, we were The Tans ❤️
