This is Scott Carson, he is a goalkeeper, he is 38 years old and he plays for Manchester City. He has played just TWO GAMES in the last FIVE SEASONS and is the third choice goalkeeper. Why do City have him in the squad?

The Premier League allows teams to have 25 players named in the squad, but 8 of them must have spent at least 3 years as a youth player in an English team. In order to comply with the regulations, City have filled that slot with Carson, developed at Leeds United since he was 15 years old...

In 2022, in the Champions League, against Sporting Lisbon, the veteran goalkeeper entered the field of play as a tribute and received a standing ovation from the entire crowd. That was his second game in a City shirt.

He gets £30,000 a week which means his yearly salary is £1.4m a year! 🤯

Have you jumped on the scales post Christmas and don’t like what you’re seeing?❌

Don’t beat yourself up about it!

It’s normal to see an increase in scale weight after the festive season but it doesn’t mean it’s all fat gain, some of it will be water weight. Increased food volume, salt intake and moving less than normal will play a part in it but I can guarantee you a few weeks back to normal habits and you’ll see the scales come back down.

Beating yourself up about it won’t do you any good.. What’s done is done and I bet you had a great time making memories which is so much more important than a number on the scales!

You are worth more than a number on the scales 🫶🏼
