We are delighted to confirm, Zak Gray returns for the 26/27 campaign, remaining at NCP, for another year of U20’s football with the squad.

Zak made the step up from our youth pathway, at Dunbar United Colts Football Club in the new year. The midfielder went on to make his U20’s debut against Edinburgh University AFC.

Gray was the U18 squad’s top scorer earlier in the campaign. The midfielder has shown long term commitment in our pathway, deservedly now featuring for the young Seasiders.

𝑼𝟐𝟎’𝒔 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒓, 𝑺𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝑨𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒏 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅:

“I do feel I’m repeating myself somewhat, but we won’t change. Wherever we can, we wish to use our youth pathway to provide opportunities in football. Being from Dunbar is certainly not a prerequisite and never will be as we do actively look outwith. But for a club with such a community core, it is rightly the first port of call. That’s either the Colts age groups, or the town itself to be honest.

The rules of football still apply, Zak has had to be patient and understandably, every player wants to play every week. Zak is dynamic and can contribute in attacking situations. He has made a few appearances for us now, in a number of games. That’s to be really built on as we return in pre-season.

I have worked with Zak for a number of years now and I’m really glad he’s made this step. He’s shown a lot of patience as already stated, but it is important. Now with a full pre-season behind him, Zak will be able to really contribute this season.”

It was a 2-3 defeat to the hands of Edinburgh based side, Hutchison Vale FC in February 2025.

This was our first goal, the opener, putting us 1-0 up. A super goal, with a particular mention to Kyle Walker, playing a wonderful pass for Adam Collin.

Adam Collin does extremely well to set-up Jamie Brown, who calmly slips the under the goalkeeper.

We are delighted to confirm, Riyaan Mohammed returns for the 26/27 campaign, remaining at NCP, for another year of U20’s football with the squad.

Riyaan made the step up from our youth pathway, at Dunbar United Colts Football Club, ahead of 25/26. The newly turned 18 y/o, made his debut against Edinburgh United FC in March 2025, in a friendly.

Mohammed has gone on to make 37 appearances, having first signed his dual registration, near the end of the 24/25 campaign. The defender made 30 appearances on the flank, in 25/26.

𝑼𝟐𝟎’𝒔 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒓, 𝑺𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝑨𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒏 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅:

“Riyaan has made good progress with us in the last 18 months. He’s been very steady and consistent for us, in his level of performance. In 24/25, we identified the left flank as an area we’d like to add to, from a team perspective. We feel passionately, that as a first port of call, we look at our senior teams at the Colts, for players. Riyaan went on to start 5 out of 6, of our final games of the season in 24/25.

Riyaan is strong, dynamic and a good defender. He’s had some excellent games this season, which reflects the fact he’s started 20 out of the 30 appearances, he’s had this season. Riyaan is eligible for U20’s for another two seasons, including 26/27. So, like the group in general, we want to add as many layers to our game, as we possibly can.

That phrase again, I feel we need to add more numbers and more threat in wide areas. Riyaan has all the tools to do this, so we are really looking forward to working with both Riyaan and the squad, in adding those layers. Riyaan is a great lad and has settled into U20’s football very well, I have no doubt he can kick on again, in the new season.”

It finished in a 4-1 victory under the lights at NCP, a brilliant performance in our debut season. 👊

This was our second goal, involving Adam Collin, Harry Clark, Calum Richards and Gregor Goldie, who provided for Leo Harrison to convert.

Harrison joined us in November, going on to score 10 goals, in his 17 appearances in 22/23. ⚽️

We are delighted to confirm, Bertie Cope returns for the 26/27 campaign, remaining at NCP, for another year of U20’s football with the squad.

Bert made the step up from our youth pathway, at Dunbar United Colts Football Club in January. The 16 y/o made his first appearance in a friendly, against The Swifts FC, on the 17th of January.

Cope gained the MOTM award on his first competitive start, against Edinburgh University. Having made the step up, Bert became a key member of our squad.

𝑼𝟐𝟎’𝒔 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒓, 𝑺𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝑨𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒏 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅:

“Bert really impressed me in his performances last season. Having turned 16 y/o in November, he made his U20’s debut, only a couple of months later. When you use that perspective again, the level of performance that Bert gave us, was outstanding. Again, this is the beauty of a youth pathway, as Bert stepped up from the U18 squad and has thrived.

Bert had to be patient, he didn’t come in and play straight away. And again, that’s key as well, that self-awareness is important to consider. Bert fits the profile of the type of player we want, dynamic, technically very good and he’s very, very creative. I remember coaching some of the Colts 09 sessions years ago, when Bert was there. This was probably when they were about 13 y/o. Bert was one of the best I’ve seen at that age, in 1v1’s. Bert is extremely strong, running direct at opponents, with the ball.

Since then, Bert has added a real steeliness to his game. For being the youngest in our squad, he’s aggressive, tenacious and very robust. He’s been subject to some sore ones, but jumped up and gone again. I think Bert would say himself, he’s learnt a lot about this level of football, but he’s done exceptionally well. I look at the squad, I’m absolutely delighted as to what we’ve got returning in 26/27.”

We’d like to say a massive thank you to Jake Duncan, for his renewed sponsorship of forward, Jamie Brown, on behalf of his business, Showtime International, for the 26/27 EoSFDL campaign.

Brown had an excellent campaign in 25/26, scoring 19 goals in 29 appearances for the young Seasiders. The 17 y/o is now approaching 50 appearances, having made his Dunbar United FC debut back in November.

Jake’s business is now in their fifth decade in the music business. Specialising in the worldwide touring sector, as both a Tour Director and Tour Accountant.

👊| 𝐏𝐑𝐄-𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐎𝐍 𝟐𝟔/𝟐𝟕 - 𝐈𝐂𝐘𝐌𝐈

Now, it’s just under 3 weeks until we return to training for the 26/27 campaign, we can’t wait! 🙌

We face three EoSFDL - West Region sides, in the form Edinburgh United, West Calder United and Fauldhouse United, in pre-season this year.

This season, something different! We travel west to take on Bonnyton Thistle FC U20’s, who played in the WoSFDL - Conference E in 25/26.

In July, we take on Vale Leithen FC, a newly formed U20’s squad, for the 26/27 campaign.

We finish pre-season by hosting Glenrothes FC, at home, having never faced the Fife outfit before.

Here is another look as to how July and August will shape up, for our fantastic young Seasiders. 🫡
