We are extremely grateful to Neil Sturrock and his friends, who chose to raise funds for three charities close to their hearts: Dumfries and Galloway Sands, Prostate Buddies, and Charlie Boys Cancer Fundraiser.

As part of the challenge, Neil played 24 different opponents in 24 hours of racketball at Dumfries Sports Club, with fantastic support throughout from Sean and Amy Thomson.

It was an emotional day for all involved, reflecting the experiences that so many families face every day. We are truly touched that Dumfries and Galloway Sands was chosen to benefit from this remarkable achievement.

Thank you for your dedication, determination, and generosity. We are delighted to receive this donation and appreciate everyone who contributed to making the event such a success.

Neil Sturrock, (centre) visited our stand at today's Vintage Rally at Park Farm to hand over a big cheque for £1,308, following his recent amazing 24 hour racketball challenge for funds to assist three lucky local charities, including ourselves.
Flanking Roly are Sean & Amy Thomson, who organised and ran the entire enterprise so well.
Neil paid tribute to them both, adding "I just hit the ball!". Yeah Neil, but you did that for 24 hours!.

Great movement and a lovely hold from Windscale Squash’s Thomas Bragg as he takes a point from pro Patrick Rooney.

Thomas went on to finish 4th in the Dumfries Squash Open A Grade after an epic 3/4 playoff against Carlisle Squash Club’s Joe Broadley - arguably the match of the day!

👏 SHOUT OUT to our DSRC Doonhamers who took home trophies this weekend at the MatchPoint Squash Dumfries Squash Open!

🙌 Extra special congrats to Ross Hunter who won the C Grade from an unseeded start, beating the 1 seed in the final, and was therefore named Player of the Event! Fin Boyd and Logan McDonald both also took home E Grade Plate trophies in their first ever event.
