Some sections of the media are reporting that the world cup trophy may have been stolen for a third time. In March 1966 'Pickles' the dog sniffed out the solid gold icon which had been hidden under a bush. There are claims that - unbelievably - the trophy was stolen again in July that year by eleven charlatans!
Can lightening strike thrice? A tartan army footsoldier has claimed to have stumbled over the iconic award this week while partying in Miaimi with mates. Stevie Paker a member of a crew know as the 'New Bazaar Doonhamers' (a pub that doesn't even exist) explained. 'It was just there, lying under a carefully tidied up pile of empty Tennants cans'. Eye witnesses support Stevie' assertion that handing it in to 'Ramsdens' was the right thing to do.

This is of course all rubbish but, that photo of tartan army stalwart Stevie has been in the national press. Have a great time all and best wishes from your NBD pals! 😋

Queens have also pointed a new assistant manager. Sandy Clark has left his job as Manager of Albion Rovers to work with the new manager, his son Nicky. This will be Sandy's third stint in this role having previous served in 2012-13 and 2019-22. What a story if this works!! Wow!

Queens have appointed a new manager - Nicky Clark (34) will guide us through the coming season. The 34 year old has vast experience having played for nine clubs from Ross County to Bury. Until 2019 he was Queens record (equal) goalscorer with 41 goals - a record that would have stood had Queens not had extra play off games. Nicky's dad had two spells in management at Queens having been part of a highly successful duo with manager of the year 2012, Alan Johnstone . Nicky will bring a degree of continuity as he knows the current squad well but will also be aware of quality players at a higher level who will want to win a Division1 championship medal with the Doonhamers. Thank you to Billy, Craig, Dan and others involved in this decision. .

Commiserations to former Queen of the South goalkeeper Sol Brynn whose side lost in the play off final today. The Middlesbrough stopper made an untypical mistake in stoppage time that allowed Oli McBurnie to notch Hull City's winner. Soll was loaned by Middlesbrough to Queens in 2021 and played 16 games for the Doonhamers.

In other news, many thanks to all members who have already renewed their New Bazaar Doonhamers membership. We are now half way towards our target! Remember, it is only a tenne r- the cost of a beer at Murrayfield - and you will be entered into a draw for a season ticket!

Let's all show our show our appreciation to Kenny Simpson for the massive effort he puts into setting up and managing the annual wonderful 'Quest for Points' competition. Please keep doing it Kenny!
A big thank you also to all the 308 participants as your entry fee has helped the New Bazaar Doonhamers submit five entries this year in the shirt draw. This brings our total number of entries to a massive 102!

Yesterday evening Ross Stewart was awarded our prestigious player of the season award, 'the Golden Rattle'. The first player to receive this was Andy Aitken back in 2004 and only two players have won it multiple times, Stephen Dobbie and Wullie Gibson. If Ross is with us next season, he may be the third! Many thanks to Jimmy Thorburn for doing the honours and to Dan and his team for a very well organised event.
