Dumfries and County Golf Club Popular local golf club in Dumfries. Welcome to the Dumfries and County Golf Club (The County). The Club celebrated its Centenary in 2012.

Hopefully, through this page, we will show you enough information to encourage you to come and enjoy the clubs excellent facilities. This club is recognised as one of the finest parkland courses in Dumfries and Galloway and the South West of Scotland with previous visitors citing the superb greens that we maintain along with the warm and friendly hospitality that we offer. The course is fully char

ted for navigation devices giving you an excellent opportunity to record a low score. The Bar, Lounge and Dining areas have undergone a refurbishment, and has improved our facilities to Members and Visitors alike. Our visitor level is high with a majority of visitors returning year on year. Already our bookings are filling up for next year so don’t delay, contact our Pro for helpful advice towards organising your day. We are proud to be hosting an event today in support of the Army Benevolent Fund. Formerly known as ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, it has been the British Army’s national charity since 1944, providing lifelong support to serving soldiers, veterans, and their immediate families in times of need.
The charity’s reach extends far beyond the UK, supporting individuals across the world and working alongside other organisations that deliver vital frontline services. Dumfries and County are delighted to play a part in supporting such an important cause.
And we think it’s fair to say — they’ve brought a significant upgrade to the traditional shotgun start!

World Cup fever hits at our Junior coaching for the next few weeks. ⚽️ ⛳️

Started off round 1 with some football inspired putting tasks.

Our PGA Professional has devised a great few weeks of golf to finish block one of the programme!

After a great night of golf, the finalists for this year’s Club Finals Day have now been decided.

Competing for the Club Championship will be Adam Scott and Ben Irving.
The Ladies Final features Amy McKie and Carla Morris, while the Seniors will be contested by Derrik Douglas and Gary Cochrane.
In the Juniors, Max Clark will meet Lochlann Hannay.

Finals Day takes place on Sunday 21st June, and we’d love to see as many members and supporters out on the course as possible.

It was wonderful to welcome Mrs Jean Sutherland to the clubhouse on Sunday, where she presented the trophy in memory of her late husband, John.
Pictured is Jean presenting the trophy to the winning team of Jane Carrick, David Jardine and Kieran Carson, who returned an excellent score of 68. Captain Walter Flager is also pictured alongside the prizewinners.
Runners-up were Colin Burnie, Karen Henderson and Cameron Hitchell with 69 (BIH), closely followed in third place by Martyn Bennett, Joe Burnie and John Carmichael, also on 69.

White Crystal Texas Scramble Results

The White Crystal Texas Scramble was played today at The County, and our warm congratulations go to Diane Macdonald, Linda Jack and Fiona Allison, who lifted the silverware with an excellent score of 65–5 = 60.

A special mention to Claire McKie, who marked the occasion in style with a hole‑in‑one at the 14th.

A huge thank you to everyone at Stranraer Golf Club for hosting our Captain's Away Day.

The course was presented in outstanding condition, and special thanks must go to Andy and his greenkeeping team for all their hard work. The greens, fairways and overall presentation were first class and greatly appreciated by all who attended.

Many thanks also to Gillian, Sophie and the catering team for the excellent food and hospitality throughout the day, and to Stephen for his organisation and assistance in ensuring everything ran so smoothly.

A really wet and competitive evening of Club Championship match play saw the semi-final places decided across all sections.
There was some excellent golf played in tough conditions, with every match hard fought from start to finish.
The semi-finals will be played on Wednesday 10th June, and the stage is now set for another great night of championship golf at the club.
If you are around, please come along and support the players as they compete for a place in the finals.

🏆 Loreburn Cup – Congratulations Lee Brown! 🏆

A huge well done to Lee Brown, who has won the Loreburn Cup after a superb 79‑14 = 65, taking the title on the better‑inward‑half.

It was an incredibly tight finish, with Greg Rice and Colin Matley also posting excellent nett 65s — but Lee’s strong back nine proved decisive on the day.

👏 Congratulations, Lee — a fantastic win in a very competitive field!

Well played to all competitors across every division, with some brilliant scoring throughout the day.
