SATURDAY 5th SEPTEMBER - WE ARE BACK AND WE ARE AT THE PAVILION!

After a couple of extra weeks holiday, we are delighted to say we are back for our Saturday sessions for the term! We'll be meeting for a 10am start at Seaforth Pavilion and, as usual, will aim to finish at 11am for younger riders and 11:30am for all others!

If anyone is interested in joining AYCC then please pop along on Saturday - for those who don't know, the Seaforth Pavilion is located next to Hecklegirth Primary School in Annan (DG12 6HY). The prerequisites to joining are that you must be at school (including home schooling) and be able to confidently ride a bike unassisted! At the moment, you will need your own bike and will require a helmet and we recommend gloves of some sort too. The first session will be free and if you decided you like it then it will be £1 a week and £10 a year for membership. For those who have messaged or emailed us and not had a response, please pop along on Saturday as you will be more than welcome!

Due to slight changes in coaches over the summer (Reece has gone to University!) our first session back will be a chance to get back together and review our groups etc so it might be a bit manic to start with so bear with us!

Finally, we will be looking to recruit some formal volunteers over the next few months to help support our sessions moving forward so if you are interested and have not spoke to us already, please come and have a chat with us - no obligation of course!

We've all loved the benefits of the pump track in Annan and it would be super if you could contribute to the consultation for the skate park next to it and the plans to take Newington to the next level!

All at AYCC would like to congratulate local lad Sam Barbour congratulations on becoming Scottish Cycling Scottish Road Race Champion 2026! Many of you will know Sam and the rest of his family through the South West Winter Series as participants and organisers so will know how chuffed we are for him! Just think where the South West Winter Series could take you!! 😁

DELAYED START TO THE 2026/27 SEASON

We hope all our D&G based riders have survived their first day back at school and that those who are lucky enough to still be on holiday are having a good time!!

As you know, we try to run our sessions in line with the D&G school term but due to unforeseen circumstances and coach availability over the next couple of weeks, we will be unable to start our sessions until Saturday 5th September. This also unfortunately means we will be unable to be at the Annan History Town event on Saturday 29th August.

We're sorry we will be a bit late in starting and we will post full details of our return closer to the 5th September. 🚴

What a weekend young AJ has had! We posted about his practice in the UCI Pump Track World Championships in Sweden and yesterday (Saturday) was the actual race and he finished in a very excellent 5th place!!! Well done AJ from all at AYCC and what an experience that was! Photos shared from team manager Adam and we hope you've all recovered from a great weekend! 👍

Today we share something a wee bit different as we share photos all the way from Sweden of young AJ who is participating in the UCI Pump Track World Championships Sweden Qualifier this weekend and flying the flag for AYCC and Scotland! Today was practice day with racing taking place tomorrow! Underneath that full face helmet we just know that AJs in full big smile mode looking forward to the weekend and we wish him all the luck during this amazing opportunity!
