☀️ DTTC SUMMER TABLE TENNIS CAMPS – BOOK NOW! ☀️

We're delighted to launch our DTTC Summer Table Tennis Camps for 2026.

🏓 Skills Development Camps
Ideal for junior and senior players of all levels who are keen improve their skills, build confidence in their play, and enjoy the game in a fun and welcoming environment. Within the group, players will be streamed according to ability.

🏓 Intermediate & Advanced Camps
Led by Scotland No. 6 Danny Bajwa and our experienced coaching team, these camps focus on technical coaching, tactical development and video analysis to help players take their game to the next level ready for the new season.

Intermediate camps are open to players with RC rating of 850+ (DTTC Division 2 and above); Advanced camps are for RC rating 1000+ (DTTC Division 1). Player falling just below the rating criteria can contact us if they'd like to join.

🏓🟣✨GUID NYCHBURRIS GLOW-IN-THE-DARK TT!🏓🟣✨

We hope everyone who came along to last night’s Guid Nychburris Glow-in-the-Dark table tennis session had a great time and enjoyed a completely different way to play!

There were plenty of good skills on show, lots of smiles and laughs, and some very bright T-shirts - just the job for glowing under the UV lights.

We’re back again tonight from 5:00–8:00pm. If you've not been already, why not come along tonight for a game and give it a try!?

For families, we're also running a free Kids & Families drop-in from 1:00–3:00pm, this one with the normal lights on for anyone who would rather play traditional table tennis..

A big thank you to Guid Nychburris A-Listers Cornet Euan Douglas and Cornet’s Lass Abigail Thomson for popping in despite their hectic Guid Nychburris schedule; with their busy weekend ahead, we appreciated them dropping by and it was great to see them both having a go too - they'd both definitely played before and played some good stuff!

A big thanks and well played to Independent Living Support for coming along to give table tennis a try at the club this week!

With a mix of singles, doubles, 'round the world', and robot challenges , it was great to see the young people and staff having fun and showing off their skills.

Everyone improved noticeably over the course of the session, and there were lots of laughs and smiles (which is the main thing of course!)

We look forward to seeing ILS back again at the club soon!

🏓OVER 50, ENJOY GETTING OUT TO SOCIALISE BUT HAVEN'T PLAYED TABLE TENNIS FOR YEARS? 🏓

This Wednesday's Over 50's Open Session is designed especially for you!

Many of the people who attend our Over 50's sessions hadn't played for years, and some had never played at all.

There's no pressure, no competition and no need to worry about how good you are!

Just come along, have a chat, enjoy a cuppa and bit of cake (or fruit) and give it a go..

With lots of players mixing, you can choose to play people in exactly the same boat as yourself so everyone fits in and has fun. The session runs from 10:30-12:30 but you can pop in whenever suits you and play for as long or as short as you like.

Bring a friend and you can play with them too...

If you can't make it but know someone else who might enjoy it and benefit from coming along, please tag them - the more the merrier!

🏓GUID NYCHBURRIS WEEK AT DTTC!🏓

Pop a note in your diaries now for DTTC's Guid Nychburris 2026 activities!

Our free table tennis activities run from 17-20th June and include women & girls and kids & families, an Over 50's drop-in, plus our Glow-in-the-Dark table tennis is back!

Our popular social morning session for Over 50's is open to all. Friendly faces, tea, coffee, cake and plenty of chat and laughs. Never played before? No problem - we'll help you get started. Lots of our players are new to the game.

🏓 Women & Girls Come & Play
📅 Wednesday 17 June, 5:00-7:00pm

A relaxed and welcoming session for women and girls of all ages. Complete beginners are encouraged to come along, with our female coaches on hand to help you get going.

Hundreds of people joined us for our Northern Lights Glow-in-the-Dark sessions earlier this year, so we're back for Guid Nychburris. Neon lights, glowing tables, music and plenty of fun for kids and adults.

🔥🏓 DTTC JUNE SMASH – ENTRIES OPEN! 🏓🔥

DTTC's June Smash will take place on Friday 26th June, sign up now to book a place!

Smashes are open to members and non-members alike, and are a great way to play matches and socialise with players of your level.

Groups are round-robin so everyone is guaranteed plenty of games, and every match is 4 games (even if one player wins the first 3 games!). Each game is up to 11 points (even if it's 10-10) and at the end of the group, each player's total points scored are added up - and the player with the most points is the winner. This means every point counts even in games you lose, and there are small trophies for the winners of each group...

✅ Open to all abilities
✅ Friendly, inclusive tournament format
✅ Juniors & adults welcome, non-members too

🏓THANK YOU, DUMFRIES ARC!🏓

A big thank you to everyone at Dumfries Activities and Resources Centre for coming to the club to play this week! 🙌

There were some good skills on show, and plenty of smiles on faces. As always, the DTTC robot was a firm favourite, with our plastic cup targets no match for the backhands and forehands on show!🎯

Dumfries ARC are our neighbours and we look forward to seeing them back again next week to let more of their groups give table tennis a try.

These sessions are funded by the Scottish Government and the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund, and provide a great opportunity for new players to try table tennis, stay active, and enjoy being part of a welcoming and supportive environment

We still have space for more groups or individuals who would like to join us, either on our Tuesday or Saturday disability programmes, or at a time that suits better. If you'd like to come along, just drop us a message and we'll arrange a session for you.😊

☀️ 'DTTC MAY SMASH' ☀️

With players aged 7 to 74 taking part, the field for DTTC's May Smash brought together a real mix of players from all parts of the club!

In Group 1, Carlisle's David Lin was a worthy winner, winning 11 of his 12 sets to take top spot. In second was Smash-newbie Josh Orr who pushed David all the way and played some great stuff! A mention too to South Ayrshire TTC's Alana Thurston who stepped up to Group 1 and put in a fine performance against much more experienced players.

In Group 2, experience told as Brian Kirkpatrick proved too strong for the 'youngsters', winning 10 of his 12 sets on the way to an impressive victory... Antonio Hurtado took second, just ahead of Tykhon Burkun, who can be very pleased with his showing in a tough group.

Group 3 saw the ever improving Carol Graham take first place - a fine reward for her dedication and passion for developing her game. In second place was Tomasz Krol, another player who has come on leaps and bounds in recent months as his results are showing.

Group 4 was nip-and-tuck, with Miranda Cichy pipping Jim Boyle by just one point to take top position. With all games between the 2 finishing 11-10 or 11-9, it could have gone either way but congrats to Miranda on being strong in the decisive points. A shout-out too to first-time-Smasher Adam Halliday who finished a very respectable 3rd in his first outing, winning sets in his matches against both of the top 2!

John Maxwell was top dog in Group 5, proving just too strong for up-and-coming youngster Rudi Wheeler. A mention too to Harris Gilmour, who finished a very respectable 3rd in his first Smash event.

Group 6 was a battle of the youngsters with some great rallies and excellent technique on show from all the players. Tying for top spot and both taking a trophy home were David Kirk and Lope Hurtado, both doing Coach Graeme proud in playing some terrific stuff and showing great consistency on both FH and BH sides - well played, boys!

🎉 END-OF-SEASON PARTY ROUND-UP! 🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for last weekend's End of Season Party!

It was great to see all corners of the club represented – juniors, seniors, social players, league players, coaches, volunteers, parents and supporters all coming together to celebrate the club and the season just gone.

The night had a bit of everything: prize presentations, stand-up bingo, our raffle, a disco, mini table tennis (which the adults seemed to enjoy just as much as the kids!), and even a few competitive rounds of 'Ping-Pong Pong' 🍺🏓

Special thanks to Graeme and Gordon for presenting the awards, and to DJ Brian (aka Kelvin Horace!) and Fiona for keeping the music going throughout the evening.

A big thank you to everyone who donated raffle prizes, and especially to Fusion Renewables Ltd, Barbours of Dumfries, and nacho nacho for their generous prize donations.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who came along and helped create such a friendly, welcoming community atmosphere. it has been a very successful season both on and off the table, and evenings like this are a reminder that it's the people who make Dumfries Table Tennis Club such a positive and special place to be!
