BRCA Scottish Off Road Series SORS

BRCA Scottish Off Road Series SORS The BRCA Scottish Off-Road Series is a series of RC car races in Scotland as a regional feeder to the BRCA National Series. Who organises the SORS series?

This is organised by the Scottish 10th Off Road BRCA Drivers Rep together with the affiliated Scottish clubs. The Scottish BRCA regional series is run in line with ALL other regional series in the UK. The BRCA Scottish 10th Off Road Regional Rep is responsible to organise the regional series along with a club rep from every club. Each club has one vote on any issues that need to be decided, so that all clubs have equal say. The BRCA Scottish 10th Off Road Regional Rep only has casting vote in the case of a tie. Clubs are encouraged to work together to deliver the best series possible for the racers. How do I book in and find more information? Entries are opened 11th May @ 7pm and you can book in for the whole series or round by round. Payment is required at the time of booking. Entry fees are shown on the booking site and Juniors are FREE! U16's will be required to use the code 'juniorscotland' at the checkout at time of booking to get the junior discount, the same as other regionals and nationals . See the booking site for more details. How else can I contact you? You can reach us at: [email protected]

Hey racers!

Today we were with Glasgow Model Car Club at MacKinnon Mills in Coatbridge for the model show alongside a variety of other RC groups and model makers. The show attracted a lot of people and it was great to see so much interaction with the public and also between all of the stall holders.

The show is on again tomorrow if anyone is interested in going, it's on from 10am to 4pm and you can try out the micro buggies, drifting, crawling, tanks, HGVs, boats and RC flight simulators. IP

Hey racers!

Slightly earlier than expected, BRCA 10th Off Road have issued the F grades for Scottish drivers for 2027!

Two drivers are missing from the list, namely Daniel Pole and David Scott because both are now F1 national drivers. We have a few promotions too, not least the juniors Aaron and Ollie Carberry. Well done all!

If you raced during SORS 2026, but don't see your name on the list below then you will be an F5 for the 2027 season.

I'll see you all trackside! IP

Hey racers!

This year is the second one with me as the BRCA's Scottish 10th Off-road Regional Representative and now that the season is finished, applications are open for this position again and this will ultimately be decided by the club representatives of each BRCA affiliated club in Scotland.

It's a democratic process and anyone who thinks they can do a better job or guide the series in a different direction in 2027 then they are more than welcome to put their names forward if they wish. To do so, you must log in to the BRCA website and under the AGM tab, select the AGM Officer Proposal Form (shown below) and fill in your application. I believe that the deadline for proposals is the 19th of September, including any potential rule changes.

All applications will be considered by the Scottish Club Reps and their choice confirmed at the AGM.

The role comes with some responsibility, not least to chair meetings of club reps, organise the series dates, promote the series, produce the racer's guide, enforce rule changes decided by the club reps, race steward, clerk of course, referee where club referees aren't available, etc, etc.

So if you want to give it a shot, please put your name forward. My name is already on the list, but I have always regarded it as a duty to make sure the racing happens and so anyone else who wishes to do it, is welcome to do it if they want to,

Thanks to all for taking part in the 2026 season, it's been a pleasure, and I'll see you all trackside! IP

Well done to everyone who raced this year, it's great to see the standard of driving improve across the board and I hope that we will be able to grow the series again next year.

A huge thanks to all of the hosting clubs for putting on such excellent events for us this year too!

Dumfries Model Car Club
Glasgow RC Club
Stonehaven and District Radio Car Club (SDRCC)

For those that are bound to ask, the F grades for 2027 will be calculated centrally by the BRCA and won't be issued until all of the UK regional series have finished, which will be in a few weeks.

Don't forget that the outdoor season still has a few more weeks to run, so please support your local clubs and don't forget that there are several indoor clubs running over the winter of other classes, which is a great way to keep your skills sharp in time for next year's racing.

I'll see you all trackside! IP

1/2 - Sunday
Hey Racers! On Sunday we had our last race of the 2026 season at a wet and blustery Glasgow Model Car Club with the weather causing some drama in the middle of the day! Despite this, the racing was excellent and the changing conditions kept everyone on their toes throughout the day. The finals were close and everyone drove well for the most part.

Don't forget that the outdoor racing season isn't over just yet, please support your local clubs over the autumn and winter to keep your skills sharp and your clubs active.

I'll see you all trackside over the winter! IP

Glasgow RC Club has been making the finishing touches to the track for tomorrow's season finale. It looks fast and challenging, so there should be some really good racing! There will be the season end prize giving at the end of the day and if you're not entered to race, you're still welcome to come and watch.

Please remember to wear suitable footwear tomorrow as it's due to rain overnight and the pit area and bank will be wet and slippery.

Mains power is available, so bring an extension lead if you need to charge. You'll also need your own shelter or have arranged for a pit space with the club or with other racers if you want to pit in the dry.

The sports club has some matches on in addition to our racing, so make sure that you turn up early because it'll get busy. That may also limit your ability to go out and get food later in the day.

See you all trackside tomorrow! IP
