Solway Skating Club recently celebrated the spirit of giving by hosting a heartwarming Easter egg fundraiser to support local young carers.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of club members and the wider community, the drive successfully collected over 40 Easter eggs. The initiative was launched to provide a well-deserved treat to young people who balance their daily lives with significant caring responsibilities at home.
This act of kindness was more than just a seasonal gift; it was a way for the skating community to show these young carers that their hard work and dedication are truly appreciated and thought of. By coming together, the club hoped to bring a bit of extra joy and a sweet surprise to those who give so much of themselves to others throughout the year.

We’re raising money for a skating harness to help our skaters learn new skills safely — and you can be part of it!

How to get involved:

• Donate an Easter egg + £5
• You’ll be entered into a prize draw to win money back!

Where your donation goes:

• 🐣 Easter eggs will be gifted to young carers in Dumfries and Galloway
• 💰 Funds will help us buy the skating harness
• 🎁 Prize draw: 25% goes to the winner, 75% supports the club

How to enter:

• Donate an Easter egg + £5 in an envelope
• Include your name & contact details in the envelope
• Hand it in at Dumfries Ice Bowl

Deadline: Wednesday 1st April
Draw: The following day

We were absolutely delighted to donate to the Solway Sk8ing Club fundraiser for their amazing club and the Young Dumfries and Galloway Carers Centre 💙⛸️

Our Solway skating teams are heading to Nottingham to compete this Thursday and Friday, for their first away competition of the season! 🏆✨
