The unfinished pile isn’t necessarily a productivity problem. Very often, it can be about the stuff that felt too important to risk getting wrong.

Your body is logging everything your mind is trying to skip past, and performers are both very good at knowing AND ignoring this.

And if you wonder what that means: Full link in bio/comments.

Caring about the work and being afraid of it aren’t always opposites. For some creatives, they can feel like the same thing because their identity becomes fused to their work.

I wrote a bit more about it in this week’s newsletter, link in bio/comments…

The tortured artist myth isn’t romantic. It becomes a reason not to ask for help very quickly, and we’ve had it backwards for long enough.

I’ve written about it in more detail this week, link in bio/comments.

If you never finish, it can never fail, and your nervous system knows this. It’s trying to protect you by pretending it’s about your standards when it’s truly about not having to find out what happens on the other side…

I wrote an article about it this week that might be worth reading if perfectionism is a recurring theme for you (link in comments/bio).

Do you love to sing but struggle with performance anxiety, creative blocks, or that inner critic that holds you back on stage?

You're not alone. As both a voice coach and psychotherapist, I understand that singing isn't just about technique but about the whole person.

And while I work as a therapist on more severe cases of performance anxiety, this isn’t necessary for everyone.

That’s why I’d like to tell you about FLOW, a unique coaching program that combines:

• Expert vocal technique training
• Targeted mindset coaching for performers
• Tools to overcome fear, self-doubt & mental barriers

This isn't your typical voice lesson. We work on both the physical and emotional aspects of singing, helping you:

🎯 Build a stronger, healthier voice
🎯 Develop resilience against performance anxiety
🎯 Break through creative blocks and shame
🎯 Unlock your full expressive potential
🎯 Find more freedom, presence, and joy on stage

Ready to transform not just how you sing, but how you feel when you sing?

Learn more about FLOW and start your journey to confident, joyful performance.

As dedicated teachers, we all understand the delicate balance between guiding students and maintaining professional boundaries. Then why does it sometimes feel so hard to keep the lines between emotional support and straying into what is precariously close to therapeutic territory clear?

**Let’s talk about Boundaries in the Studio…**

If you’re a voice teacher passionate about nurturing talent and helping your students shine, you’ve probably asked yourself before how to support them without diving headfirst into emotional rollercoasters while also protecting your own mental health and wellbeing.

That’s why I’ve been talking about “Professional Boundaries in the Performing Arts Studio” for ages—at conferences, on podcasts, in classes and courses (if you’re interested: You can find all of this on my webpage, link in bio). And I’ve long had a module in my “Mental Health in the Performing Arts”-course that I’ve now made available as a standalone because this is truly where it all starts.

You can be sure to learn from someone who hasn’t just been a performing artist and teacher herself, but who is also a fully qualified psychotherapist and therefore understands both the needs of performing artists and also what it means to keep things out of the studio environment that simply don’t belong there, no matter how much we want to help.

**Clear boundaries are kind. **

They encourage student independence and growth.
On the other hand, we are well advised to recognise the signs of emotional distress in students and learn how to support them appropriately without crossing the line into therapeutic territory.

Last but not least: We also need to think about our own mental wellbeing and understand how to prevent burnout and compassion fatigue.

"Professional Boundaries in the Performing Arts Studio" helps any performing arts teacher (not just voice teachers) to take the first step towards becoming a more empathetic and boundaried educator.

You will get lifetime access to a video recording and its corresponding audio, slide decks and video transcripts.

If you have any questions, any time. You can find the link to the course in the comments.
