Run Report:
Levengrove parkrun #260
12 September 2026

What a lovely morning at Levengrove for our 260th parkrun, with 148 people joining us.

A huge thank you to all 35 volunteers, including our brilliant pacers, who helped make today happen. Your time and encouragement make such a difference - please join us in thanking everyone who helped out.

A warm welcome to our 38 first timers, and to everyone visiting us today — we hope you enjoyed your run, walk, jog or volunteer experience and that we’ll see you again soon.

A special mention for Ian Morton, from Edinburgh who left at 5.30am to get to Levengrove. Thank you for proving that you can be a parkrun tourist sustainably - he is doing the parkrun alphabet by public transport 👏 And to my lovely friend Kelly who travelled to parkrun as an early birthday surprise for me today 😘 (check out Kelly Ludwig Coaching for amazing ‘food and mood’ inspo!)

Congratulations to achieving a parkrun milestone today:

🤩 25 parkruns: Leigh Kelly
🤩🤩 50 parkruns: Bhagavaan Karthikkeya Dadi and Diya Sahasrakshi Dadi

And well done to everyone who achieved a personal best today - 14 in total, you worked hard for it. Whatever your pace or your goal, it’s great to see everyone out there enjoying Levengrove parkrun.

Sharon is your Run Director next week. We still have a few gaps on the volunteer roster, so if you can lend a hand, please get in touch - all offers of help are very welcome.

Thanks everyone, and see you next Saturday!

Next month, one of our founding members and RDs, Theresa is running Chicago Marathon to raise money for My Name'5 Doddie Foundation.

Motor Neuron Disease (MND) is a fatal and typically rapidly progressing disease which affects the motor neurons of the nervous system (the cells that carry messages from the brain to your muscles).

Theresa’s colleague Brian was diagnosed with MND in 2019 so My Name'5 Doddie Foundation is a cause close to her heart and one that I’m sure we can all get behind.

People in the Levengrove parkrun community have been asking how they can sponsor Theresa, so there’s a link in the comments to her JustGiving page. If you can support this amazing cause please do.

We’re all rooting for you, Theresa! 💪👏🔥

Run Report

Event Number 259 – 4th September 2026

For the second time in her four visits to Levengrove, Emma Simpson Dore showed the rest of the field a clean pair of heels, leading today’s field home. This was only the fifth time in our history that a Woman has done so. A huge well done to Emma. The others are Morag Millar, Mabel Beckett and Ruth Joss,

It took a new Personal Best of 18 mins 46 secs to give her a 5 second advantage over Douglas Laird of Helensburgh AAC, who was as surprised as anyone when he was overtaken in the last 200 metres. Third place went to one of today’s 22 First-Time visitors, Robert Tye, in 19:07.

Georgia Callander was next Woman home in 21:28. She was followed by another First-Time visitor, Grace Davidson, in 23:24.

Leading Junior performers were, for the boys, Bhagavaan Karthikkega Dadi in 25:33 and for the girls, Diya Sahasrakshi Dadi, another with a PB of 29:01.

Our Graphics alongside summarise today’s proceedings but if you want to dive deeper (highly recommended) details of those PB performers, First-Timers and a complete event history can be found in this week’s full results here: https://parkrun.org.uk/Levengrove/results/latestresults

Run Director for the day was Kirsty with a special mention for Kirsty Harvie undertaking her 300th parkrun and our very own Pat Currie celebrating her 150th. Other Milestone achievements are in the graphics. Well done to all of them.

Kirsty was again backed up by a fantastic Volunteer crew – all deservedly highlighted alongside.

Andy Goodhall’s First-Timers Welcome included two doing their first-ever parkrun – welcome and haste ye back Steffen Gay and Morvern Degville - plus 22 others hailing from Nottingham, Kirkcaldy and Doncaster.

At the other end of the spectrum was our Prolific parkrunner of the week Andy Moore, now just 6 short of the magical 500.

Kirsty hands over to Anna as next week’s Run Director. It’s Pacer’s week but of course this can only go ahead if we have all the other Volunteer roles filled. At the moment we’re a couple short so if you can help out it’ll be greatly appreciated. Either drop your name in the comments below or email us at [email protected]

See you next week.

#258 Run Report

Another cracking morning at Levengrove parkrun with 129 finishers enjoying ideal running conditions. It was a dry morning with comfortable temperatures and barely a breath of wind which made for some great running and helped 12 people achieve new PBs. Well done to everyone who set a personal best today.

We were delighted to welcome 17 first timers with 4 taking part in their very first parkrun. A warm Levengrove welcome to Andrew Reilly Gillian Gall Alexandra Grant and Kenny Maclaurin. We hope you enjoyed your first outing and that we'll see you back again soon.

Congratulations to our milestone achievers:

🏅 Ava Conroy - 10 parkruns
🏅 Craig Vibert - 25 parkruns

💯 A special congratulations to Veronica Bell who completed her 100th parkrun today. Reaching a century of parkruns is a fantastic achievement and represents years of Saturday morning commitment dedication and miles covered. Well done Veronica from everyone at Levengrove.

Also celebrating big numbers this week were Gillian Edwards on 400 parkruns and Matthew Hack on 450 parkruns. Incredible achievements from both of you.

Our first finishers today were Kevin Riddell in 18:54 and Georgia Callander in 21:25. Kevin also recorded the highest age grade of the day with an impressive 74.43%.

As always the event could not happen without our brilliant volunteers:

Andy Goodhall Wilson Hamilton James Hunter Lucie Apted Gerry McElroy Sandy Workman Joyce Macewan Isla Clark John Dempster Helen Ducat Katie Baker Jim Belk Douglas Laird Paul Lyden Alan Oliver Avril Williams and Kirsty Ormond.

Thank you to everyone who came along and made it another great Saturday morning at Levengrove. Whether you ran jogged walked volunteered or cheered from the sidelines we hope you enjoyed it.

It’s Kirsty’s turn for the blue vest next week. We’ve still got a few volunteering opportunities available so please get in touch if you can help!

See you all next week 💙🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️
