What a season it has been for our 1st Team Ladies!

Yesterday they headed to Hazel grove CC for the DCCL Mary Smith High Peak Cup Finals Day and battled their way through to the final after a fantastic game against Old Glossop, drawing on the score but progressing on wickets! 👏🏼

Then came the final against a very strong Romiley Red Ball Ladies side and what a game of cricket it was!

A huge congratulations to Romiley Cricket Club on being crowned Cup Winners AND League Winners! 🏆🏆

What an incredible achievement and a fantastic advert for women’s cricket.

We couldn’t be prouder of our ladies. They have worked hard, supported each other and represented Stalybridge brilliantly throughout the season.

And yesterday was exactly what women’s cricket should be about!

Now it’s time for a well-earned rest… before they go again!….

Wonderful turnout last night to celebrate the end of junior cricket for 2026

Special thanks to all our volunteer coaches who give up their time on a Friday, to Niamh on the bar and to all families who made our Friday sessions so successful

The good news is we are after more volunteer help for next year 😉 . Please drop us a message if you are able to help in any way (coaching, co-ordinating). Full guidance provided

Last week we had finished our junior games with a narrow defeat to Stayley in almost pitch black conditions. A great all round with 2 players making their debuts.

Big shout out to the 2 debutants. Firstly Aaliyan with 2 stand out moments in the field. Direct hit that almost resulted in a run out and a great catch.

Then Zac who stole the show with the ball resulting in 2 wickets in his last 2 balls of his spell meaning that we need to remember when he bowls his next competitive ball that he’s on a hat trick. Also absolutely rapid in the field 💨.

All in all a good way to end the season and shows the future of the club is in safe hands with the juniors we have at the club. Player of the match goes to Zac for a great debut with bat and ball having only just turned 8!!

However everyone made a contribution so well done all 🏏
