What an honour it was to take the year 7s to play an away rounders fixture against Oldfields Hall Middle School u13s teams.
All students performed with the utmost professionalism and sportsmanship, demonstrating the Walton values of pride, respect and kindness.
The girls unfortunately lost 11 1/2 to 4 1/2 but showed improvement in the next game but unfortunately lost 7 rounders to 6.
The boys demonstrated excellent tactical play and won both of their games, with George coming away with player of the games.

Huge congratulations to our Walton students who represented Stafford at the Staffordshire Schools Athletics Championships today at Northwood.

All students should be so proud of themselves, they have performed with the utmost professionalism and sportsmanship - Harry, Charlotte, Fleur, Florence, Cora, Beth, Izzy, Ella, Darcey, Isla, Harry, Rory, James, Eli, Olly, Zach.

It has been an absolute pleasure to spend the day with these amazing students.

We had first time racers, we had medals, we had PBs and we had lots of smiles!

Big thank you to Mrs Slater from Stafford Grammar School who was the Stafford District Team Manager, organising the entries.
Big thank you to parents for your continued support with fixtures and competitions.

Good luck to the athletes who have qualified today to represent Staffordshire, competing next week at the Mason Trophy event.

Huge congratulations to Isla in year 9 who has worked extremely hard to retain her place at Villa.

Since regaining her fitness after injury this year Isla has received some great feedback from coaches both at Villa & Staffs County.

Isla has represented County for the first time this year and has thoroughly enjoyed it and will hopefully trial for the U16s squad for next season.

This year, Isla has played for school, county and Villa!!!

We are extremely proud of you Isla!!!!

**** Athletics Stafford District Meet 2026 ****

Walton students you didn’t disappoint!!!!!!!

Our school values - Pride, Respect, Kindness was reflected!!!

We had 49 students competing today and all showed huge amounts of pride, respect, and kindness, both on and off the track. They represented the school brilliantly, giving their very best in every event and encouraging one another every step of the way.

The level of sportsmanship and teamwork on display was outstanding.

The students were truly amazing and should be incredibly proud of themselves. Their behaviour, attitude, and effort reflected the very best of our school community, and Mrs Smith, Mr Valentine and Miss Capenhurst were extremely proud to watch them compete with such enthusiasm and maturity.

A huge thank you also goes to all the parents and grandparents who came along to support the team. Your encouragement (and coffee supply) from the sidelines made a real difference and helped create such a positive and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone involved.

Also a huge thank you to our year 12 students, Zach and George who volunteered with organising the team and helping with officiating events. Boys you were amazing.

A huge congratulations to all students today and to all students who have qualified for the next round to represent Stafford on Saturday 13th June at Northwood Stadium.

Mrs Smith is incredibly proud of you all!!!
