This Saturday we had lovely weather again at the Rezza, and plenty of divers in the water. Visibility was limited in the deeper areas, but ok in the shallows, with a huge amount of fish life about. Some very chilled and relaxed diving to be had!

This weekend in the Rezza, the vis was around 3m in the shallows, and milky. But there are lots of shoals of juvenile perch. Also many small jack Pike. Some eels were around, but too quick to catch on the camera today, as were the carp.

This weekend Dudley Nautilus held our annual summer BBQ.

What a roaring success it was too! A big turn out of our divers, family, and friends.

Underwater visibility was limited, but the wildlife was plentiful to see. Eels, Pike, Carp, and large shoals of perch.

On the food front, the traditional burgers and hot dogs, but also Dan treated us with a Paella cooked on site. The bar was open, and cracking time was had by all.

Great to see such a large turn out for our continuously growing, and always awesome club!

To finish the afternoon the Dudley water ski club got out the inflatable sofa for a high speed tow. Hilarious fun, and very tough on the arms to hang on to!

Huge thanks to all that make these events possible with food, cooking, equipment, Dive managers, running the bar, and all the other work that goes on behind the scenes.

What a fantastic and busy evening at our pool session this week.
15 divers in the water, one a returning member from a few years ago, 2 try dives, 4 trainees learning and refreshing skills, 2 members helping, 4 swimmers, and no less than five instructors teaching! Also a newly serviced kit checked out too.
Great to see so much training happening, and so many club members and instructors making it possible.

This Month Dudley Nautilus travelled down to the south coast for the annual dive trip out of Portland.
The sun was shining, and spirits were high. Our ride out was with “Skin Deeper”.
Our nine divers were diving on the “Alex Van Opstal”, Lulworth Banks Drift dive, and the “Aeolion Sky” .
Both wrecks around the 30m depth range, and the drift in the 20 – 23m range.
Conditions were ok underwater, although there were some strong currents at times.
As well as enjoying the scenery on the dives, some of our divers collected plentiful Scallops too!
Unfortunately the final dive planned for the “Spaniard” had to be called off due to a mechanical issue on the boat. There is always next time for that one.
We even Dolphins swimming along with the boat, always a treat to see.
Great dives, great socials and meals and drinks out. Another successful Nautilus trip!

Another busy Saturday at the Rezza for Dudley Nautilus. The long hot spell has brought out the algae bloom, so in water visibility has dropped a lot. However that hasn’t deterred our divers with 17 in the water today.
We had a mix of pleasure diving, open water training, and classroom training all happening as well.
All the members chipping in to keep it all running smoothly and safely. The club is going from strength to strength!

Nautilus had a great turnout at Waters Edge Quarry on Sunday for a relaxed day of diving.
A group of 7 club divers split into three buddy groups, successfully completing two chilled dives. Surface intervals and shore support were expertly covered by Mark and Harvey. The weather played ball, giving us a bright, sunny day, though a cool breeze was welcome in keeping everyone from overheating while gearing up.
The social side was just as good. Kevin fired up the barbecue during the surface interval to serve hot dogs and smash burgers, which we paired with a selection of cakes brought along by Sue. Post-dive, Dave showed off his new dive computer, which turned some heads with a very impressive 3D interactive dive profile.
A thoroughly enjoyable, straightforward day out and a brilliant way to spend a Sunday.
