💜⚽ DC DERBY DELIVERS ANOTHER FANTASTIC AFTERNOON OF FOOTBALL ⚽🖤

**DC Dynamos 5️⃣-2️⃣ DC Valkyries**

What a brilliant afternoon as two Gornal DC teams went head-to-head in another fantastic in-house friendly.

The scoreline may have gone in favour of the Dynamos, but the biggest winner today was football. Both teams played with great determination, quality and respect, making it another brilliant advert for what Gornal DC is all about. 👏

The Dynamos showed some excellent attacking play to come away with a 5-2 victory, while the Valkyries proved once again that they can more than compete. Playing against a strong boys' team a year older, the girls showed incredible courage, commitment and character, never backing down from the challenge and leaving absolutely everything out on the pitch. They should all be immensely proud of themselves. 💪

A special mention goes to **Arthur**, who stepped in to help out in goal for the Valkyries and pulled off a superb penalty save. Fantastic effort! 🧤👏

⚔️💜 FRIENDLY ACTION FOR THE VALKYRIES 💜⚔️

Yesterday, our Valkyries took on Phoenix in an entertaining in-house friendly, giving both teams another valuable opportunity to develop and enjoy their football.

We switched things up and played 6v6 to maximise everyone's game time.

The girls were brilliant throughout. Their determination to win the ball back was outstanding, and they never stopped working for each other. Every week they're growing in confidence, and you can really see the progress they're making.

The next step is lifting our heads a little earlier and picking out that final pass. Once that clicks, this group is going to be a very exciting team to watch.

💜 A NEW ERA FOR OUR BOYS' SECTION 💜

We are delighted to introduce **Steve Potts**, our **Head of Boys Football** at Gornal DC. ⚽🖤

With over **25 years of experience**, Steve's football journey began in grassroots football and has naturally evolved into coaching, where his passion for developing players and supporting teams continues to shine.

Steve's vision is simple but ambitious – to create opportunities for players of **all ages and abilities**.

His goals include:
⚽ Creating new teams where there is demand.
📈 Developing clear player pathways throughout the club.
🤝 Building relationships with academies to provide further opportunities for our players.
👥 Ensuring every manager has the support and encouragement they need to help their players thrive.
🏆 Creating pathways into men's football for those ready to take that next step.

One of Steve's biggest passions is making sure our teams get to play football. Last season, he worked tirelessly to secure facilities during the winter months so our teams could continue playing despite the weather—a commitment he intends to continue as the club grows.

Another brilliant performance from the Valkyries in today's friendly! 👏

The girls were a little slow out of the blocks, but even then they looked the stronger side. Once they found their rhythm, they played some outstanding football, creating chance after chance. On another day, with that final pass or finish, the scoreline could have been even more convincing!

There were some superbly worked team goals, while **IN** produced two absolute moments of magic from free-kicks to help the Valkyries pull away in style. 🚀⚽

A big welcome to **E**, who made her debut today and already looks like a fantastic addition to the squad. Strong, confident and a great fit for the team – we're excited to see her continue to develop in purple and black! 💜🖤

**Gornal DC Dynamos 4️⃣-2️⃣ Gornal DC Phoenix**

A fantastic afternoon of football as our **Dynamos** and **Phoenix** faced off in an entertaining in-house friendly, showcasing exactly what Gornal DC is all about. 👏💜🖤

With only six of our regular Dynamos squad available, **RMJ**, who trains with us as part of his development, stepped in and was absolutely superb. He slotted in brilliantly and played a huge part in the team's performance. 💪

The match was competitive, played at a great tempo, and, most importantly, played with respect from start to finish. It was fantastic to see two Gornal DC teams competing while encouraging each other throughout.

What a day for our girls at the SDYFL Girls Festival! ⚽💜

Not only did they bring home another trophy, but they also achieved something special by **not conceding a single goal all tournament!** 🧤🚫⚽

Every single player was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The effort, teamwork, determination, and quality on display were outstanding, and the girls should be incredibly proud of themselves. 👏💜

It's brilliant to see the progress they're making week after week, and today was another reward for all their hard work and dedication.

A huge thank you must also go to **Terri** for organising and running another fantastic tournament. 🌟
