๐พ Opening Tennis up for Daniel ๐
Twelve months ago, The Prosser Tennis Academy hosted a fundraising event at Quarry Bank Tennis Club in partnership with the incredible team at Bright Ideas for Tennis.
Thanks to everyone who supported the event, we raised an amazing ยฃ1,000 to help open tennis up within our local community and create opportunities for people who may otherwise face barriers to taking part.
Since then, the funding has enabled us to provide inclusive tennis opportunities for local schools but it has also allowed us to support one very special young man: Daniel Berg.
Daniel captured our hearts from the moment he first came onto the court. He was an absolute pleasure to coach, and his enthusiasm and personality shone through immediately.
Through our Bright Ideas for Tennis fund, we have been able to provide Daniel with:

๐พ Individual tennis lessons
๐พ Red Ball group coaching sessions
๐พ A place at one of our HAF holiday camps
๐พ Quarry Bank Tennis Club membership for the 2026/27 season
The Bright Ideas for Tennis project was created to provide โlevelling upโ opportunities removing the barriers that can prevent people from accessing tennis and experiencing the physical, social and emotional benefits of belonging to a sports club.
Daniel has a rare disability that affects his mobility due to bone and spinal abnormalities. Although he loves sport and being active, he struggles to keep up with his peers and often finds activities inaccessible. Daniel is a cheerful, cheeky boy who simply wants the opportunity to join in and enjoy sports alongside his friends.
Danielโs journey is a wonderful example of why community fundraising matters. It isnโt simply about buying equipment or funding sessions; it is about helping someone feel welcomed, supported and part of something.
Danielโs mom, Izzy, said:
โDaniel has loved being part of QBTC. He is excited to be able to join in, develop at his own pace, and play alongside his peers. The support and encouragement from the coaches have helped him build confidence, develop his skills, and most importantly, enjoy playing.โ
Watching Daniel settle into the academy and enjoy his time on court has been incredibly special. We feel privileged to be part of his journey and cannot wait to see his confidence, skills and love of tennis continue to grow.
