One last weekend in summer mode ☀️🤍

It’s been so nice having a slightly slower pace over the summer more time away, fewer routines and a chance to properly switch off.

But I have to admit… I’m starting to feel ready to get back to normal!

From Monday it’s back to:

🏋️‍♀️ PT at Virgin
👐 Sports massage
💃 Felicity White dancing
📚 And lots more planned for this page!

I’ve really enjoyed the break, but there’s something about September that makes me want to get organised, get back into a routine and start fresh.

For now though… I’m making the most of one last slower weekend. 🤍

Are you ready for routine again or hanging onto summer for as long as possible? 😂

More than just a massage 👐

When something hurts or keeps coming back, simply treating the sore area isn’t always the whole answer.

That’s why my sports massage appointments take a more personalised approach.

We start by talking through what’s been happening and, where appropriate, looking at how you move. From there, I’ll tailor the hands-on treatment to you and give you appropriate exercises or advice to continue between appointments.

💪 Rehab

Whether you’re dealing with a recurring niggle, feeling stiff or sore, returning from an injury, or your training is starting to take its toll, the aim is to help you understand your body, move better and feel stronger.

And no you definitely don’t have to be an athlete to benefit from sports massage!

👋 Hello September… and hello again!

I’ve been a little quiet on here recently, but September feels like the perfect time to get back to sharing more of what I do.

And I’m going to be doing things a little differently…

Alongside personal training, Pilates and sports massage, I want to use this page to share much more about injury rehabilitation, strength and movement.

Expect plenty of:

💪 Simple strength & rehab exercises
🦵 Injury and pain education
🎥 Exercise demonstrations
👐 Sports massage & recovery advice
🦴 Mobility and healthy ageing
♀️ Women’s health & strength
🏋️ A little behind the scenes of what I do with my clients

My aim is to make this page genuinely useful helping you understand your body, move better and get stronger.

So, I’d love to know…

What would you like me to cover?

❌ “I’ve got pain, so I must have injured something badly.”

The truth is, pain can be influenced by many factors, including:

🔹 Muscle overload
🔹 Changes in activity levels
🔹 Hormones and menopause
🔹 Previous injuries

For example, elbow pain isn’t always “tennis elbow,” and lower back pain doesn’t always mean you’ve “put your back out.”

Understanding why something hurts is often the first step toward improving it.

The goal isn’t to stop moving it’s usually to find the right way to keep moving.

If you’ve been avoiding exercise because of aches or pains, there may be more options than you think.

💬 What injury or ache has been bothering you recently?

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, grandads, stepdads and father figures out there. 👏

Thank you for being role models, supporters and cheerleaders.

And with today being the Summer Solstice, we’re also enjoying the longest day of the year and the official start of astronomical summer in the UK.

☀️ More daylight
☀️ More opportunities to get outside
☀️ More chances to move your body

How are you spending the longest day of the year?

Mobility work isn’t the most exciting part of training, but it can make the biggest difference.

A few minutes spent improving movement quality can help:

✔️ Reduce stiffness
✔️ Improve exercise technique
✔️ Support injury recovery

Your body will thank you for it.

What’s your favourite mobility exercise?

Sometimes progress looks like:

✅ Walking upstairs without pain
✅ Feeling stronger carrying the shopping
✅ Sleeping better
✅ Having more energy throughout the day
✅ Feeling confident in your own body again

The best results often happen before you see physical changes.

What progress have you noticed recently?

✅ Consistency beats perfection every time.

Small steps, repeated week after week, lead to big results. Whether your goal is to get stronger, move without pain, improve your fitness, or simply feel more confident, focus on showing up rather than being perfect.

What’s one thing you’re doing for your health today? 👇

Many aches and pains don’t mean you need complete rest. Often the right exercises can help improve strength, mobility, and confidence while reducing discomfort.

If you’re struggling with an injury or persistent niggle, don’t just put up with it. There may be a better way forward.

📩 Message me to discuss your symptoms.

One of the biggest reasons people put off exercising is because they think they need to be in better shape before they begin.

But that’s a bit like saying you need to get clean before taking a shower.

Whether you’re:
• Returning after injury
• Feeling weaker than you used to
• Recovering from illness
• Going through menopause
• Feeling nervous about the gym

You don’t need to have it all figured out.

Everyone starts somewhere.

The important thing is finding an approach that feels manageable, safe and realistic for you.

Small steps consistently taken will always beat waiting for the “perfect time.”

💜 If you’ve been thinking about getting stronger but aren’t sure where to start, send me a message with the word START and let’s have a chat.
