Our Derby is open to all and don’t worry, you don’t have to follow the league, to enter an individual week 🤗

🏆 To be eligible for league prizes, you need to compete on 3 dates, including the Final, taking place on Saturday 15th August!

Although a bit chilly, what a beautiful day we had for week 1 of our league today ☀️

As always, a huge thank you to our fab volunteers for their help fence judging / scoring/ call-up and time-keeping today. We could not do it without you all 🤩

Our thanks to Adam Stevenson X Country for the hard work, planning and effort he put into our courses.

Michelle A Taste Of The Countryside kept everyone well fed and watered and thankfully JD, Ambutran Event Medical Services wasn’t too busy.

Kyra Griffin Photography and Emily-Jane were busy snapping all the action on the courses today. Their photos are currently being uploaded and are really worth a look 🤩

Lee Through the Lens Photography was out and about capturing the atmosphere of today.

Lastly but by no means least, our appreciation to everyone who entered and competed today. We hope you enjoyed your day and gained some mileage. For anyone who it maybe didn’t go to plan, onwards and upwards!

🐴 Showjumping course also available to hire 🌱

Competing at Balmoral Show, the upcoming RDS qualifiers, at any of our local agri shows or just want to have fun?

We now have a 7 fence showjumping course alongside an 8 fence working hunter course available for you to get lots of practice 🌱💦🌺🌳

It will depend on ground conditions as to how long we’re able to keep them out for.

📍Please note, this is a separate hiring to the XC and in a separate field - these courses are NOT included when hiring the XC 📍

🤝 Much blood, sweat and tears as gone into these, so we’d ask that you respect them when using.

There are bulky items in these courses so children must not be left unsupervised !!

📍£25 per horse/pony for 1 hour (discounts for 2 or more)

📍£40 per horse/pony including use of our XC ( SJ / WH for 1 hour & XC no time restriction )

Class 5. 85-90cm not start before 10.30am

Class 4. 75-80cm not start before 11.30am

Class 1. 40cm Assisted 10am

Class 2. 40cm Unassisted not start before 10.30am

Class 3. 60cm not start before 10:45am

Entries submitted after the Starting List was compiled, are not on this list, but we haven’t forgotten about you!
You will be added to the end of each class.

🔢 On arrival, please come to the show office to declare and to collect your bib number

🐴 👀 Derby Competition information and Equipment Rules - Please Read !! 🤓

The organisers reserve right to refuse participation by any competitor. By entering the event you agree to abide by all the rules and regulations in relation to running the event.
Current eventing Ireland and Pony Club Eventing rules apply for dress and tack for cross country.

Entries
• Must enter same horse/pony name and rider name each week to be eligible for the league

• Rider can not enter both the assisted and unassisted classes

• First attempt at the course will count towards the League points (may be allowed to enter and complete a second round, on the day at discretion of organisers, but this round will NOT count towards the League).

🪖 Hats, Body Protectors and Air Jackets
• Protective Helmet/jockey skull to current standards – NO fixed peaks allowed, CE mark on its own not acceptable must have BSI kitemark
• Snell E2016 & 2021 with the official Snell label and number
• PAS 015: 2011 with BSI Kitemark or Inspec IC Mark
• (BS) EN 1384:2023 with BSI Kitemark or Inspec IC Mark
• VG1 with BSI Kitemark or Inspec IC Mark
• ASTM-F1163 2015 & 2023 with the SEI mark 47
• AS/NZS 3838, 2006 with SAI Global Mark

🦺• Body Protectors
• BETA 2018 Level 3 standard (blue and black label)

🎽 Air Jackets
• If a rider chooses to wear an air jacket it must only be used in addition to a normal body protector which meets the current Body Protector Standards.
Rider and Horse Equipment

👢• Long boots or short boots with chaps should be worn – no long socks.

⏰ • Stopwatches/timers are not permitted in any class and their use will incur elimination.

• NO Schooling Whips allowed, whips should be between 45-70cm in length not weighted and with a pad on at least the last 2/5ths of the whip.

👱🏼‍♀️• Long hair should be in hairnets or tied up for safety and to allow reading of bib numbers.

🔢• Competitors to bring their own number bibs. We provide your bib number

🌱• Grass/balance reins are not permitted when jumping > 50cms.

• Training aids e.g. draw reins, side reins etc are not permitted in competition.

• Excessive use of the whip or spurs may result in elimination.

‼️• In the case of Elimination, the rider / horse must immediately leave the course safely at a walk.

The XC tracks at our first two Ash Hollow Summer Derby League 1. Saturday 9th May 🏆 🐎 Derby competitions (Saturday 9th May & Saturday 13th June) count towards your qualifying XC rounds 🐎
