Grateful to have venues with air conditioning! This week is going to be hot 🥵 I will bring extra fans too so please do not worry about the heat and classes. One thing I’m not missing about the studio is how crazy cold and hot it would get!!! You’ll be cooler in our venues than at home so there’s a good reason to do classes 💪

What a week and what a total rollercoaster this year is being!

22 classes taught although far more hours actually behind the scenes and bungee back up and running (something I was losing hope over…) just shows you never know what’s around the corner and never be scared of change!

Things are running at 100 miles an hour and I’m bloody loving it although looking forward to a day off tomorrow 🤪

Our next class focus is Zumba! This is the class that brought me into group exercise which ultimately changed my career path!

What is Zumba?

Zumba is a fun, dance-based fitness programme that combines Latin and international music with easy-to-follow dance movements. It was created in the 1990s by Colombian dancer and choreographer Alberto ‘Beto’ Perez.

A typical Zumba class includes a mix of:

* Salsa
* Merengue
* Cumbia
* Reggaeton
* Pop and world music

The routines alternate between higher and lower intensity movements, creating an interval-style workout that improves cardiovascular fitness while feeling more like a dance party than a traditional exercise class.

Benefits of Zumba

* Improves cardiovascular fitness
* Burns calories and supports weight management
* Enhances coordination and balance
* Strengthens muscles throughout the body
* Boosts mood and reduces stress
* Suitable for a wide range of fitness levels

Who can do Zumba?

What should I wear?

* Comfortable workout clothing

* A water bottle to stay hydrated

What to expect in your first class

Don’t worry if you don’t get every step right. The aim is to keep moving, enjoy the music, and have fun. Most people find their confidence and coordination improve after just a few classes.

The Zumba motto is often summed up as: “Ditch the workout, join the party!” 💃🕺
