Unfortunately we have had to take the decision to cancel the Westerns tournament we had scheduled for Sunday.

Following the recent period of rain, the sunny weather early this week was drying the ground out nicely, but the early arrival of yet more rain yesterday has meant the ground is once again saturated.

It’s treacherous to walk on, and a day of archery will turn it to mush. We can’t even open the field for club shooting at the moment.

We apologise for the short notice, we’ve tried hard to put this event on, but the exceptionally poor weather has not only impacted the event but prevented the club's use of its field to members as well for the time being. Being such short notice, be under no illusion that this was anything but a very necessary response to prevent any injuries or lasting damage to the ground.

We hope to find a weekend to reschedule the Westerns within the next couple of months, in there mean time we will be contacting all entrants with details of the refunds.

Droitwich Archery Society are hosting a have-a-go day on Saturday (14th May) and we are welcoming anyone who wants to try out archery.
We are offering some coaching and some shooting games for all ages and refreshments. You can find us at Loggerheads Lane off salt way, Hanbury.

The Droitwich Spring Warwicks could be your answer!

We are holding our annual Warwicks event on Easter Sunday (April 17th) at our ground near Hanbury. As ever, it's a no-pressure, no-trophy event - you're shooting for handicaps and the odd record or two!

Plenty of target spots available, closing date is Sunday 10th.

As we get towards Summer, there's plenty of light for shooting in the evenings, so we have added a fourth session each weekday. Our weekend sessions stay the same due to the late start, but in the week we are now shooting this schedule:

Session 1 - Sunrise to 11:30am (Anytime only)
Session 2 - 12pm to 2:30pm
Session 3 - 3pm to 5:30pm
Session 4 - 6pm to dusk

Bookings for session 3 tomorrow are now in session 4.

As we move out of restrictions we'll move back to the old club sessions. If you want to have a more social shooting experience, we encourage you to book these sessions from now on. The booking page now shows how many people you will be shooting with for each session, for now we're keeping it at one per target.

Club sessions will be:

Tuesday evening (session 4)
Thursday evening (session 4)
Saturday morning (session 1)
Sunday afternoon (session 2)

Finally!

We are delighted to be able to begin shooting again this week. Booking will be open on the club website for paid-up Summer and Full members from Monday 29th March, with shooting sessions available from Thursday April 1st.

You should by now have received our announcement by email, with all the details for safe shooting at Six Gold End. A few things are slightly different due to the new Archery GB guidelines, so please read the information carefully.

Our maintenance crew spent Saturday mowing and lining the field, and painting and fitting wheels to the target bosses. We have a full field of 12 bosses, so there should be plenty of room for everyone to have a target to themselves. At the moment, we'll have two P.M. sessions, but it is very important that you book before attending, both for contact tracing and to ensure you get a space to shoot.

We look forward to meeting up with members again, and to have a great summer shooting!
