CLUB 17 RESULTS — GREAT WITLEY

The longest test of the season so far, and the weather absolutely delivered - perfect conditions for tackling 17 lumpy miles of Worcestershire's finest! ☀️🚴 A brilliant turnout of 22 riders rolled out for our biggest field yet.

The podium:
🥇 Joe Tyler - 41:04 (24.8mph!)
🥈 Rikky Hughes - 41:11 (just 7 seconds back)
🥉 Steve Vanes -42:27

What a battle up top with Joe and Rikky separated by a whisker after 17 miles, both averaging a flying 24.8mph. 🔥

A special mention to our GOLD medallists on the night, smashing their personal targets:
⭐ Peter Mulligan - 42:52
⭐ Andrew Overton - 43:06

Cracking rides too from Philip Hunt (42:50), Steve Craner (43:14), Marcus Bufton (43:25) and David Lloyd (45:26) and a great effort from everyone who took on the climbs tonight.

The medals reflect the personal challenge as much as the clock - everyone who rides this course earns it.

Huge thanks to our volunteers, timekeepers and marshals - these evenings simply don't happen without you.

DCC TT SERIES - EVENT 6: THE BIG ONE

Tuesday 16 June · 19:00 · Club 17 · K22/17 Great Witley (Road Bike Only)

The longest test of the season so far - 17 miles of proper Worcestershire countryside, and it's a hilly one! 🏔️

If you've been ticking off the 10s, this is your chance to step up. The K22/17 rewards pacing and patience - go too hard early and the hills will find you out. Get it right and there's no better feeling rolling back into the finish.

The essentials:
🕖 First rider off at 19:01 - please arrive in good time to sign on
💷 £5 on the night (cash) or covered by your season ticket
💡 Front AND rear working lights required - no lights, no ride

New to time trialling? This is a "come and try it" event - non-members can ride up to 3 events before needing CTT membership (which is free to register: cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/register). Though if it's your very first TT, one of our 10s might be a gentler introduction - the next one is 30th June on the K32/10!

Where possible, please ride to the event to ease parking pressure.

DCC TAKE THE TEAM PRIZE AT THE REDDITCH OPEN!

What a day out on the K34/10F! 🚴💨 A strong Droitwich contingent headed over to the Redditch Road & Path Cycling Club Open 10 today and rolled home with the 🏆 Team Prize!

Huge congratulations to our winning trio:
🥇 David Lynes - 22:23
🥇 Paul Mansfield - 24:13
🥇 Rikky Hughes - 23:32 (and a cracking ride on a road bike! )

Three superb performances that combined for the fastest team aggregate on the day - a proper team effort against a quality open field. 👏

Also out flying the flag was Pete Mulligan (29:28), who had a tough one with a few issues out on course - that's bike racing sometimes! Hats off for toughing it out and getting round. We'll get 'em next time, Pete. 💪

Out front, the event was won by Lewis Tinsley (Beeston CC) with a flying 19:50 - seriously quick.

Massive thanks to Redditch Road & Path CC for hosting, and to all the marshals, timekeepers and volunteers who make these open events possible.

Onwards! Our own series rolls on - next up is the Club 17 on Tuesday 16 June (K22/17, Great Witley). See you there! 🚴

⚪️🔴 Team DCC racing 🔴⚪️

⏱️ On Saturday four DCC 2-up teams took part in the handicap TT. A new event with time bonuses for age, gender and disability made it a really interesting and inclusive format with generous prizes too!

5️⃣ 5th (and Joint third place on actual times) for and Steve Craner

6️⃣ 6th for and

🎱 8th place for and after some emergency bike fixing by to get Dave to the start line

🐑 11th for and after being hampered by sheep crossing the common (surely would have won it otherwise)

Great event, thanks to volunteers and for some superb pictures

Due to surface dressing at Severn Stoke we are switching courses to the Himbleton K32/10
