I had a wonderful afternoon moving and dancing with Reception & Nursery at Defford-cum-Besford C.E. First School.

I am supporting their current work on identifying emotions and today we related colours to our feelings with the help of "The colour monster" story!
We danced to happy music 🌞 using shakers, sad music 🌧 using our ribbons and also expressed these emotions with our parachute!

I had the most magical Christmas session to end the term with the fantastic group of children and staff at Defford-cum-Besford C.E. First School .
The lovely story "we're going on a Present hunt" helped us practise our balance when playing musical Christmas 🌲 trees, encourage beat & rhythm whilst jingling our bells as Santa's reindeer 🦌 and also throw in some creativity and large motor cross body work swishing a scarves to the singing of Christmas 🎶 carollers. The children loved the slow and fast passing the parcel 🎁 and I danced to "Santa shark" for the first time! 🤣🎅🦈

My final session with Reception and nursery at RGS Springfield this afternoon before the Christmas break.

A Christmas themed yoga and movement session led by the book "we're going on a present hunt". 🎁
We managed to go through the frozen, spiky trees,🌲 past the Hungry jingly, jangly reindeer🦌 and even taught the Carol singers "Let it go!".🎶

We passed the toys round the circle, took turns dancing and even got a beautiful bear as a present to take home to our families! We might have been told off by the doctor for jumping on our beds! 🧸

We mixed yoga with some movin monkeez activities with the children from Reception and preschool at RGS Springfield today...

We mixed yoga with some movin monkeez activities with the children from Reception and preschool at RGS Springfield today.
The children wanted to go on an undersea submarine adventure, so we did! We helped Puffy the baby Puffy fish escape from deep down in the ocean! 🐡
We loved riding our bikes, learning how to surf, travelling in our submarines and even speeding back to shore by dolphins! 🐬

The digger digger digger crabs were my favourite though! 🦀

I had a lovely trip with Reception and pre-school at RGS Springfield over a rainbow to the Cretaceous period to help out Tiny T-Rex with his terrible toothache! We practised our yoga poses throughout this imaginative journey!
They also told Tiny not to be afraid of the dentist and gave him great advice on limiting his sweet treats and brushing his teeth properly! 🦷🪥🦖

I had a wonderful start to Winter themed Movin Monkeez sessions at Defford-Cum-Besford School yesterday.
We thought about what we do when the weather turns colder and also used the topic of hibernation to move like animals and think about where they might sleep.
We used our ribbons to create rockets, Catherine wheels, fountains and sparklers and scarves to produce a group firework dance focusing on balance and basic jumps. We even had a fantastically crazy firework explosion! 🎆
